What was the count of animals released, around 50 or so. Not like a tiger, lion or bear can't be miles away and mauling someone while we scramble around for tranquilizers.
Not to mention, what if the tranqs aren't strong enough? lol

Yeah, my mom was telling me the property was right off of 40 with all the cars out front. I knew exactly where she was talking about.

And it's not like the Zoo and The Wilds didn't try, they just said the situation made it nearly impossible. It appears the one tiger they did shoot with a dart didn't get a large enough dose, and just got pissed. Jack Hanna even defended the decision to shoot.

And tranquilizers aren't like magic "pass out guns" that shit can kill you, or an animal, in the wrong dose. Ever wondered why anesthesiologists get paid so well? It's because the difference between just making you sleepy, making you pass out safely for a period of time, and killing you is oftentimes very, very small.

I am sure you can thank gov. Kasich for thius, he dropped the ball. What a twat!

Still killing all of them? Take them back to where they belong set them free, animals are vicious for a reason.

Does this mean that if 50 convicts escape from prison they automatically get shot? I didn't think so

By the way the picture looks there couldn't have been too big of a population where the people couldn't have been warned. You see a lion outside don't go outside. No reason to kill all these animals.

they could have put them to sleep!! NOT KILL THEM

Where they would die a slow painful death, assuming something else doesn't kill them first, because they've spent their entire life in captivity. Derp.

Actually those are all from one thread. A guy posted the picture, and he's up to 40+ comments. Some girl who I don't know posted that. But basically 80% of the comments are from girls <25 years old who don't realize that life isn't a Disney movie.

They had an exotic snake breeder on local radio today. He said you cannot get actual wild animals, all were 100% definitely raised in captivity.

I've posted the Dispatch link where they say it was nearly impossible to tranquilize on a couple facebook posts to counter people's "they should have tranquilized" rants.

Of course they still respond that it would have been done.

I just want to respond with THEY ARE PROFESSIONALS, YOU ARE A REDNECK

Rednecks generally don't have a problem with killing animals. I doubt the rednecks are the ones making a fuss about this.

Meh, at the same time they believe they are smarter than everyone about everything even though they barely graduated HS (if at all).
That's when they bust out the "School of Hard Knocks" line, and you laugh hysterically.

And remember, this is Columbiana County. Logic will be defied.

One of the craziest stories ever.

I mean seriously....when they were all let out that road must've looked like the first 30 seconds of a Tazmanian Devil cartoon. Insane to even consider being out in a field farming or on hole #5 and have 14 lions, a cheetah and 3 grizzly bears wonder by.

MY roomate was watching MAddow, and she was blaming it all on Kasich, well when they put Jack Hannah on, he destroyed her logic entirely, and said Stricklands executive order left them with nothing that could actually be done immediately, and that Kasich had been having meetings with people trying to figure out how to deal with it. And don't kill them? Sure, let children possibly be mauled by them.

What makes everyone think that all these animals suddenly turned vicious and were out for blood? When I first heard the story, the first 25 or so animals were shot dead on the property. Who is to say that some of these animals weren't still in a pen/cage when killed?
