Sad part about this trophy is that during my years at Memorial, I never knew that there was a traveling trophy. Now before anyone says the reason why is cause you never beat Struthers, I never saw a Memorial team loose to Struthers while I was in high school. We considered our rival to be Warren JFK.

oldschool, I was never in favor of dropping JFK off the Campbell schedule. Although they are D-6 JFK does win its share of games.

The Hard Hat Trophy was retired after the 1980 season... my Dad's Senior year. It was brought out of retirement in 2004... my Senior year.

I've said it in the Struthers/Campbell thread... but I think it needs to be said again here. Coach Asher wants to be in Struthers. The rumors about him not liking the community are 100% false. This isn't a shot at EL... but Coach Asher and his staff have said that they didn't have the support from the community in EL, that they have now in Struthers.

He did get into an argument with the Gridiron Club a few months back... but it's nothing that can't be worked out. As far as I know... it may just be water under the bridge.

I'm very interested in what happens in the coming months...

BTREV, off subject...did you graduate with Campana, Wiley, Penson, and Yash? I think Brian Walton was in there somewhere as well. Just wondering because I trained all of them for an extensive period of time. In box me.
