No offense, but I know EL fans are bitter, but this is not the place for it. Hope the rumors aren't true. But they arent there for no reason. Go cats. Get the w this week.
Well said...
I just said that if Asher gets fired, it'll be because of his, and more importantly his team's, actions on and off the field. I didn't hire him, Carden didn't hire him, the Gridiron Club didn't hire him... the BOE did. It's their decision whether or not we need a new coach. If he stays, he'll have my support. If he leaves, good luck to him. I'm not hating on the guy... I've never even met him... yet.
It may not be time to send Asher packing, but it's definitely past the time to hit the panic button. From listening to him talk, I can honestly say that I think he does want to turn things around. He does want to do right by the kids. It'll take time though. As the saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day.
Unfortunately, they'll need to do some heavy damage control over the offseason and possibly even into next year.
And I can't really say Asher was stupid for firing Nagle. I probably would've done the same, if I were in his shoes, given the situation.
As for the future of the team...
Who knows? I do think getting rid of open enrollment is a good idea. Most of the OE kids don't play sports, and they're not exactly the best influence either.
I'll never stop supporting Struthers. Never....
I know the injuries have caused problems, and the flu has been going around too. Disciplinary concerns are a problem too.
Still, they have a lot to play for. A conference championship. the first nonlosing season since 2003, the first win over Hubbard in over a decade, the Seniors' last home game, and a hope for a winning season.
