I am still on the 2 week ones. Take care of them. Do the protein removal treatment after 2 weeks and easily get a month out of them.

My wife just made the switch to the daily lenses. She loves them. She has different prescriptions for each eye. 90 day supply cost 200 from the eye doc. When she reups we will go 1800 Contacts and it will be a little cheaper. She only wears contacts about 3/4 days a week at the most. So 90 days should last half a year.

That's basically what happened to me. They started irritating my eyes, so I went to pretty much full-time glasses.

As for buying them, do you need a prescription? Or is it like glasses, where if you have eyes that are just a bit off, you can get a passible pair at a store, but if you're near blind, you need a prescription for the ultra-powered lenses? Just in case I'd want to try contacts, since it's been a couple years since I've used them.

I use the 2 week ones and wear them about 8 months. I see no reason why they should need to be thrown out after 2 weeks. I store them in the multi-solutions every night, so they stay pretty clean.

Ain't no one one touching my eye with a knife or laser. I'll stick with the minor inconvenience.

Mine were 60% cheaper at Sam's Club than at my eye doctor. Sam's is also cheaper than 1800 contacts or Walmart by about 10-20%.

Thought you had insurance? Most insurance companies are paying for this now from what I hear.

It will pay for some. I haven't actually looked to see what % they would pay of it.

Some of you guys actually wear the 2 week contacts for multiple months at a time? Lol I love when we have people come in for a brief visit bc they have an eye infection or eye irritation and I ask how long theyve been wearing their current pair of contacts and the answer is usually like 3 4 or 5 months. After a while, the contacts can only get SO clean from the solution and the protein and dirt starts to build up and theyre less oxygen permeable . But if it works for ya, go for it lol

Not saying you're wrong. But I've never been to the eye doctor for anything but routine checkups. Been wearing contacts for 19 years.

I'm thinking that's why contacts started irritating my eyes. I was cutting corners a few years back due to getting divorces and one thing I was doing was stretching out my contacts a LOT longer than I had.

LOL. Of all the times to have the "hit s instead of d" fuck-up. Damn, one wife was bad enough...can't imagine how much polygamy would have sucked.

I have worn Dailies for years. I recently went for a consultation for lasik because I knew I would qualify but didn't know how much lasik cost. It's really not as bad as I had expected. During benefits open enrollment I just put enough in my Flex Spending Account to pay for the procedure. I can use the funds in January for lasik and basically pay for the procedure tax free. Has anyone else done lasik this way?

I have 30 night and day lenses and leave them in for 2-4 months.
Rewetting drops in the morning and usually take them out twice a month to soak over night.
Once wore the same pair for nearly 2 years. Didn't have any problems with vision or health and when I went back for a checkup, nothing had changed one bit in the 3 years since I had been there. Dr wasn't happy though.
