I think so. They have not had the Galaxy line (and still don't, opting for the Nexus instead). The Droid line is not limited to one OEM, but I'm sure they'd love to have a line of Android RAZR phones. Which is partially why I think it will be unlocked because the developer/rom community certainly helps to make a phone iconic. And right now, that crowd is going nearly all-in for the Nexus.

For what it's worth, the RAZR has already been rooted (that's to be expected).

So this thing is finally coming out on Monday or there abouts. From reading BGR's reviews and hands on reports the nexus is better than the rezound which is better than the razor. I hope the nexus doesn't go over 299...<REZOUND<NEXUS. html Nexus in the than more cost doesn?t hope I 299...< 299.<REZOUND<NEXUS. under comes nexus>

Leaked price was $299 on contract, and I think there's only 1 (not a choice between 16 and 32gigs storage).

One review yesterday called it the best phone to-date. Everything that's great about ICS, a screen that rivals the IPhone, and possibly the best camera on the market.

I really wanted 48gigs of storage, but the phone is otherwise about everything I want.

It's beastly. Lot of horsepower and the videos I've seen it's very smooth and responsive. Resizeable widgets in ICS is going to be a really nice touch, as well.

There's been resizeable widgets on Moto phones for a while now. RAZR, Bionic, X2, Droid 3...they all have resizeable widgets.

I believe that is the mfr custom UI overlay. ICS brings that feature to stock Android. But I get what you're saying, yeah I guess it's not that big of a deal (other than those of us with older phones!)

The RAZR also has location-based settings which should, IMO, be stock Android. It's a great feature, and not a big deal to get with Locale or Tasker (though not user-friendly programs). But I love how my phone settings change automatically to what I want when I walk into the office or into my apartment.

Ya, the Smart Actions app is amazing. I am a huge fan of how you can help your battery life using that.

that's been the #1 reason for rooting the phone. Underclocking made a huge difference in battery life on my Droid. Again, I don't know why it's not a stock feature of Android.

And now the Rezound has been unlocked with the RAZR right on its heels. So the most compelling reason favoring the Nexus has just been obliterated. Considering a switch to the Rezound, myself.
