Not trying to be important at all. I could tell you everything right now, but I could lose my job for it. And e-cred doesn't pay the bills.

You never know. I know of an engineer who got fired before the Droid X launch because he had the phone sitting on his counter at home prior to announcement and his son snapped a pic and put it on Facebook. Do you think his bosses and colleagues were looking at the guy's son's Facebook page?

Facebook is more popular than this minor league site.

True. But they are taking the NDAs on fourth quarter devices extremely serious this time around.

Once a pic of a unannounced device hits the internet, it doesn't take long for those pictures to make their way to a tech blog. It spreads really fast from there. No need to risk your job over something like this.

Verizon Wireless announced the DROID RAZR by Motorola on Tuesday, a brand new Android smartphone that will take advantage of the carrier’s 4G LTE network. The device is equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a Super AMOLED Advanced display with a qHD resolution, 32GB of memory including 16GB of on-board storage and a 16GB microSD card, Bluetooth 4.0, an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p video, a front-facing “HD” camera for video chat and support for sharing its 4G LTE connection using Verizon’s Mobile Hotspot feature. The DROID RAZR is also covered with a water-repellant nanocoating that protects the phone from everyday spills. Despite the beefy feature set, the DROID RAZR is the thinnest LTE phone and measures just 7.1mm thick. Verizon Wireless confirmed the device will be available in November for $299.99 with a new two-year contract. Pre-orders for the device begin on October 27th. Read on for the full press release.
Very interested in the gorilla glass and splash resistance. This is going to be a tough decision.

Additional features:
· Powered by Android™ 2.3.5, Gingerbread
· 1 GB RAM for a fast user interface and multi-tasking
· 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video capture and image stabilization technology for crisp and clear videos
· Front-facing HD camera for video chat over 4G LTE, 3G or Wi-Fi
· 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot capable so customers can share 4G LTE speed with up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices
· Water repellent nanocoating protects the phone, and even the inside components, against everyday spills
· Remote wipe, pin lock and government-grade encryption for email, calendar and contacts as well as voice and video chat conferencing
· Use Quickoffice® to view, create and edit Microsoft® Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents on your mobile device from anywhere at anytime
· Bluetooth 4.0 low energy
· 32 GB memory: 16 GB on board and 16 GB microSD™ card pre-installed (actual formatted capacity is less)
· Powerful 1780 mAh battery

I think it is safe to say it is running Gingerbread.

Looks like a really nice phone.

Launches with Gingerbread, with an update to Ice Cream Sandwich as soon as Moto can.

It also has Kevlar on the back...so its extremely durable.

The things that are going to sell this phone are smart actions, Motocast, and the durability aspect.

The durability alone can sell this phone. I know many people that are looking for a smart phone that won't break the first time they drop it. This is what the Bionic should have been and I can't believe this is a 4g phone at 7.1 mm thick. That is nuts.

Also, launching with 2.3.whatever isn't a bad thing. I would guess all phones launching 4q will have Gingerbread on it sans Nexus phones.

Damn that Razr is nice... This is tough because I would love to have ICS right away and I hate the "RAZR" name. But the 7.1mm and duribility will be amazing even though I don't drop my phone a lot.

Ugh guess I will wait to see more about the Prime tonight good thing I have a few weeks to make a decision.

Thanks for the locked bootloader on the RAZR VZW. Hopefully the Galaxy Nexus doesn't have more of the same.

iPhone probably wins the battery life. Speed is probably comparable to all phones. It will boil down to what you want to use your phone for.

Tough to say without actually having the RAZR or Prime on the shelves yet?

I know that in lab tests, the RAZR was getting 10-20% better battery life than the Bionic was. But that's lab tests, that isn't real life use. The RAZR's Smart Actions are going to be huge for conserving battery life.

But we'll just have to wait and see what the Prime is offering and how that battery life looks.

Battery life is almost guaranteed to be faster on the iPhone 4S. The battery life on any 3G phone is going to blow away any of the 4G phones. So if battery life is your biggest concern, you can stop at number 1 on your list. If speed is the priority, the Prime and RAZR have faster processors and are 4G. So those are going to move much faster than the iPhone. They should be somewhat faster than the Bionic...but it will hardly be noticeable.

The RAZR and Bionic have the exact same overlay. If you've seen the Bionic's UI, then you've seen the RAZR's.

I know I'm going to purchase an iPad 3 whenever it comes out. I'm in love with the idea of iCloud - syncing pics, songs, videos, etc. between devices and your computer. Also, I do think Siri sounds pretty niffty. Do any of the Android phones have anything comparable?
