Another week, another challenge. Both teams coming off of a win. Should be a fun night of football.

Weather looks good and our field hasn't had a varsity game played on it since the 16th of Sept.

Not to bash soccer at all, but this time of year is when I'm thankful that there is a separate facility for soccer.

Senior Night this Friday....scoreboard is finally all put together...and two teams with a shot at the OCC title.

The last two years Orrville has controlled their own destiny in terms of winning the OCC coming into week 7....only to trip up against Ashland.

Air Cupid's attack will be offset by my arrival and the aura of the '86 Final Four Generals.

Make sure you sit on the home side and we expect some red/white in your gameday attire!

I know a few of us would like to shake hands with a old school General fan. We only don't get along in week 10.

Hope it's a good game! For that to happen Ashland's defense has to show up and the offense show some consistency, but then again we could count on the Riders turning the ball over and getting penalty's but I wouldn't count on it. We have no one that can match the speed of Turner so I look for him to have a big night.

We have to be able to get the ball in Turner's hands first!

And unfortunately, if Brenner's able to play, the coaches won't know how to accomplish that. LOL!

It definately has to be a challenge from a coaching standpoint to make sure that all the playmakers get touches, but the coaches will put together a gameplan that they feel gives them the best opportunity to score points and win a game. If that involves Turner getting all the touches then fine. If that involves Mason running 30 times fine. If that involves Brenner getting lots of touches fine...its up to the kids to accept their role each week, but it comes down to "whats best for the team" and if they don't believe in that concept then the TEAM will struggle. Its not an individual sport. Although we can all agree or disagree on who should "get the ball more"...if we get a WIN, who cares...other than those people who think their son got screwed by the coach because they didn't get "their" amount of touches! (Notice an "i" in "their" and not in "TEAM")

Im a Red Rider fan and all I want is a win. However that gets accomplished is fine with me!

What I said was not a slight to Brenner.

I find it strange that when Brenner doesn't play, (one game), Turner gets more passes thrown his way, and he's the kick/punt returner which he is much better suited to then Brenner due to his speed and agility. But when Brenner plays, they can't seem to figure out how to get the ball to Turner!

What a jerk knots, that I've said no more than rr1, old r and others have said on that subject but somehow you've read it as an insult to Brenner!

I think Brenner and Turner both will get their fair share of touch's because our D-Backs are small, slow and nonathletic! ;)

Dont bring me into this.....

What's Kyle averaging in terms of completions this year? Maybe 15? So from that 15, how many do you think should be going to Stew? 14? All 15? Seriously.

If he and Drew each have 5 catches per game, that's 10 right there....only 5 left to go around. Still got Lemon & Weaver (who both scored TD's last week) to account for.

Drew had a long TD and Senior before he got hurt....Weaver had a long TD last week...should we just stop throwing to them? The more we evenly distribute the ball, the tougher we are to defend....and that's how you win football games.

Of course, we know you don't care about winning games, just making sure those you align yourself with get "theirs," and if they don't.....it's a conspiracy.

Seems to me you would pass to whoever gets open and not try to force passes to certain players, that's when the interceptions happen as defenses seem to try to cover the main receivers.

As you all know I'm a Bobcat fan and I dont post much on OC at all. I enjoy reading everyones opinions. Some people on here are obviously football smart, other....not so much. That's what makes it fun. Orrville has an outstanding tradition. One that everyone from Orrville should be proud of. I think the point that is lost on so many "uneducated " people is that a team having lots of talent is going to waterdown many players individual stats. It's what having a championship caliber team is all about. We have the same thing at Norwayne right now. We have a QB that can run very well with the ball and two outstanding running backs sharing time behind him( actually 3 or 4). On many teams anyone of those guys would be the focal point of the team but instead they are sharing touches. This has drastically reduced the rushing yardage any one of them could have with 20 carries a game. The same thing goes for our receivers. we have 4 or 5 excellent ones. I think that any one of them could be piling up enormous stats if they were thrown to exclusively. Stats are great but do big individual stats help teams achieve team goals? That's an interesting question. Be happy that you have a Brenner to line up opposite of Turner. Be happy you have a couple other quality WR to fill in when they're covered. That's how you win....with options. Stop complaining. Embrace what you have in Orrville. Good luck to the Riders for the rest of the season ( unless you're playing Norwayne!!)

My opinion is based on personal experience and alot of other peoples comments as well. I remember way back when i was at practice and was always being praised for great hustle, nice hit, good job. Yet there was another who was always being yelled at by coaches, being lined up for shed drill 2 or 3 times a week for never getting it right. Guess what, game day who starts ? the guy who screwed up all week. Maybe because his dad was a city employee ? WHO KNOWS !. I know i should have kept my opinion to myself on this one. I am not the only one who feels this way, i will however in the future keep my opinons on this matter to myself. I apologize to anyone i offended with my comments.

81,
Was it the current coach who you played under? If not, then that opinion should have gone out the window when that coach left the program.

I haven't seen Davault do anything but put the players best prepared and skilled to be on the field Friday nights.

Doesn't matter who mom & dad are or what side of the tracks you were born on.
