You may have heard of Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), the most liberal Senator. He recently made national headlines when he compared those of us who oppose unchecked union power to Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin.

Now, Sherrod Brown is attacking those of us who oppose raising the debt limit without passage of the Balanced Budget Amendment. He said we "want to govern by ideology."

Our nation's debt is over $14 trillion and skyrocketing, but Sherrod Brown believes it's extreme to demand Congress balance its budget. What he fails to recognize is that stopping the debt is not a matter of ideology, it's a matter of national survival.

It's time to show Sherrod Brown the door.

Sherrod Brown was recently ranked by National Journal as the "most liberal" politician in the entire U.S. Senate. He voted:
FOR the $700 billion Wall Street bailout;

FOR the $787 billion stimulus bill;

FOR President Obama's government takeover of healthcare;

FOR the Cash for Clunkers program;

FOR the auto bailout;

FOR union intimidation using "card check" elections;

AGAINST permanent repeal of the death tax; and

AGAINST the earmark moratorium.

There is no bigger supporter in the U.S. Senate of big-government spending, bailouts, and debt than Sherrod Brown.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — National political parties have a test for potential candidates: Do they have what it takes to raise eye-popping amounts of money?
Josh Mandel has passed that first test, and moves on with honors. The Ohio treasurer, barely in office seven months, raised $2.34 million in his initial foray into a U.S. Senate race, according to preliminary figures that he'll finalize in a filing with the Federal Election Commission this week.

It takes more than money to win a Senate seat, and the election isn't until November 2012. But Mandel, a 33-year-old Republican whose youthful appearance is tempered by his two tours of Iraq as a Marine intelligence specialist, will be regarded as a very serious contender if he continues at anywhere near this pace.
Mandel's haul is expected to be the largest of any Senate challenger in the country, according to his campaign.

He raised it in just three months, April through June. Mandel's take eclipses the $1.5 million that incumbent Sen. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat, raised during the same period. Brown nevertheless has more in the bank -- $3.5 million -- because he raised money before this last quarter.

Brown has the advantage of incumbency and is a proven fundraiser and tireless campaigner. But he is already on the receiving end of Republican Party and outside group attacks over spending, the debt and the economy, the latter of which creates a challenge for any swing-state Democrat. The Ohio Democratic Party meantime regularly criticizes Mandel for spending so much of his recent time raising money and looking for his next political opportunity when he had barely begun serving in his current job.

Mandel has received support from significant conservative groups including the Club for Growth, Citizens United and Sen. Jim DeMint's Senate Conservatives Fund. But less than 4 percent of his $2.3 million came from PACs and committees, according to the Mandel campaign. Mandel had 2,940 donors, and nearly 60 percent of all his money came from Ohio, his campaign says.

About his campaign: Although Mandel has filed the necessary FEC paperwork, has retained fund-raising consultants and invites people to his fund-raising receptions by saying he is a Senate candidate, he has publicly shied from making an actual declaration. Not only ago, he maintained that he still had not decided whether to run for Senate. Such a declaration is expected to come in time. But it's not even necessary now. His money says it already.
