Wall is better than Turner. Turner is very good, but he's probably in that top 3-5 category.

Wall is just one of those once in a lifetime players, that Calipari has had two in the last three years. Calhoun said after the game yesterday that Wall is better than Rose.

Yeah give me Wall over Turner, although it is close. Turner has put up great stats so far, that isn't debatable, but Wall is the best and most dangerous player in the country this year.

It really isn't THAT close. And I like Turner, he's a good player. Wall is a different kind of specimen.

And Wall has played what? 9 games? Turner has been there for a few years. So has Collins. So has Reynolds. So has Singler.

Argue for whomever you please, but just the fact that Wall is in this conversation tells me all I need to know.

As a Carolina fan, I would have loved to see Wall in Chapel Hill. He's a great player and he seems like he's a pretty good kid. He made a few mistakes in the past, but he seems to be focused and doing the things that he needs to be doing to be successful. He likely would have made Carolina a serious title contender this year, but instead he'll be doing that for UK. I hope he has a great year and a great NBA career, but like I posted last night, it's hard to watch him and not wish he had stayed close to home to wear a lighter shade of blue.

All of that said, I trust Roy's decision to not offer. He knows what is best for the Carolina program, and he's obviously doing something right.

What Wall is doing as a freshman is ridiculous. The kid is one of those "special" players. I enjoy watching him and I agree the Wildcats will not be an easy out.

I sure wouldn't be worried about UNC. He's a one and done player anyways--and UNC may very well be better than UK in the end anyways. UNC is a scary team, I don't think people are giving them the respect they deserve yet. IMO, by the end of the year they may very well be the best team in the country.

Yeah, definitely. Carolina has a ton of talent and I've said from day one, once the young guys gain a little more experience, the Heels will be a very dangerous team. I'm not sure if they will challenge for a national championship, but I think they will be capable of a nice run in the NCAAs. Hopefully they can challenge Duke for the ACC title also.

The reason I made my post, though, is because Roy takes a lot of heat for not offering Wall, even from his own fanbase. Obviously the kid is ultra-talented, but other factors led Roy to believe he wasn't a good fit at Carolina. It's a shame it had to be that way, but that's just how it goes sometimes. Even if Roy did offer, he still may have ended up at UK, but some people like to dwell on "what-ifs". It's tough to watch him play and realize that he was in Carolina's own backyard, but as I said before, I put my trust in Roy.

Fact is, as GREAT as Wall is--he's one and done and Roy didn't need him. That's how great Roy AND UNC are. They didn't need Wall to compete this year. If they had Wall I'd call them national title bound for sure--but I still think they'll compete without him. He's not the type of player Williams looks for and I'm glad to see he didn't go against what he believes in just for a certain player. I'm an IU fan but I really respect UNC's program and I love Roy Williams--and I'll tell you what, I'd love nothing more than to see Roy's team knock Wall out of the Final Four this year after all the heat he's taken.

First of all, you're right. Has nothing to do with this thread. But Kobe isn't the best player in the game right now--whatever you want to say. i have watched both play this year on multiple occasions. Wall is a stud, very good, only going to get better (although this will be his only college season). But at this point in his career...he doesn't do "all" that Turner does.
As a PG this year(his first year playing the position btw), Turner is averaging a double/double, and as many asst. as Wall is.
Granted, Turner has two years on Wall, that I realize.
But at this point in the season, Turner IS and HAS been better. Thats really a fact, backed up by stats as well.

You act as if stats can't be misleading in any way...like okay Turner has better stats, so it's a fact he's better.

Aubrey Collman of Houston is average 27 points, 8 assists, and 4 rebounds..is he the best player in college basketball because he is averaging the most points and very good assists and rebounding stats to go with it?

Did you think maybe that Kentucky's team is built around fast breaks, so Wall is never by the basket when a shot goes up , that he goes out to the 3 point line every time someone shoots so he can be the outlet guy because that's the style of play Calipari runs? And that's why he's not averaging more rebounds? But no because Turner averages more rebounds, he's clearly better because he does it "all".

You're sorely mistaken about one thing, though. I am far from someone who appeases to everything Duke's coaching staff does. As many Duke fans and others here know, I question Coach K often. Aside from always picking Duke in my NCAA brackets (what fan of a super six school -- when good -- doesn't?), I'm no homer.

If you're basing that off my Singler "best basketball player" comments, then just stop. He's a top five player in the country. Hands down. Anyone knows this. So calling him the best player, or thinking it, is no stretch of the imagination. But, as I said, Wall is the best pure player IMO.

Can stats be misleading? Absolutely they can. But when you have done all Turner has done for multiple seasons, and what he was dong this year, with two triple doubles, those stats are NOT misleading.

Again, Wall is a stud. I am not saying he is not. Just don' believe he has the all around game, at this point, that Turner does. Turner plays PG, he posts up, can take it off the dribble, has the best 15ft game in the country, rebounds, and can pass. His all around game is better IMO.

THAT SAID, I have no problems stating that I think Wall is better than Turner. I can just see "it". He is just the best basketball player in the country. Numbers wise, Turner had been better. Just that I think Wall is better than him.

I havent watched Turner play this year, so I cant make a argument for him......but I see where you are coming from cbf. When its a great player from your favorite team, you kinda get a bias view on them. Kinda like how I think PP and JW for Kentucky are 2 of the top 5 players in the country. But as I said, I havent saw Turner play and I dont watch OSU bball, but it looks like alot certain people on a Ohio forum dont agree with you at all.
