Not sure if there was a thread on this or not but i didnt see one

http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2011/09/06/circleville-stop-sign-death.html

So how much time should they get? Imo probably 3-5 years. Some people say that this was a prank but to me what is the funny part?? what did they think was going to happen? not saying these are bad kids, but two people are dead.

Those kids are fucking idiots. I hope they get the max punishment available. Also what is even worse was reading this at the end "The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office terminated the employment of the Corporal in the Communications Division, Kimberly Chapman, on Aug. 29 after an investigation proved she knew about a covered stop sign and did nothing about it."

Seriously you're 18 and 19 what makes you think it is a good idea to cover a stop sign?

Eh, it was just a prank. I think they should get some sort of time, but to be served after the football season.

The driver was the grandmother of someone I went to high school with. Very sad. I'm glad the person that didn't report it was fired.

Whatever the maximum is. A couple of F---tards. They should have their balls cut off so their stupidity can't be passed down to the next generation.

I guess I'll be the insensitive one to point out that the age of the driver probably had a whole lot to do with it. That stop sign is hardly invisible.

But, obviously a really dumb prank. It isn't funny, and even if nothing went wrong what is the upside? Calling for the maximum penalty seems more than a little extreme though.

The "prank" did the maximum possible damage.

I think the thread title should be changed. The "kids" are 18 and 19, aka adults.

I love how people call this a "prank." Um no it's not a prank it's a dumb fucking thing to do and should be punishable by the max offense. These kids are jackasses

People died from this prank. Why not call a stranger and ask if their refrigerator is running if you want to pull a prank. No one dies from that stupid prank.

This isn't a prank. It was an idiotic decision that ended up in the loss of life. The people that did it were not 'kids' either. When I was 18/19, I never thought about covering up a stop sign, nor did I think it'd be funny to do...

The pranks we pulled, were TP'ing a friends house, as well as egging it, then perfectly framing another kid that absolutely hated our friend by placing a letter in the mailbox saying he was going to kick his ass as well.

That shit is funny. Not covering up street signs that pose danger to people.

I mean, why not just cut the brakes from a vehicle while you're at it? SMH

i am sure somewhere someone has. they probably ran into the kitchen to check, slipped on the floor and landed on a knife or something.

That's technically not a true statement, but that's why they're being charged with involuntary manslaughter instead of vandalism or whatever the charges would be had the result been different.

(I believe) the maximum possible charges are being applied, which I have no disagreement with. The maximum possible sentence of the maximum possible charges seems unnecessarily punitive. Just my opinion.

18/19 ARE NOT KIDS! Jesus, what the hell is wrong with this country? Where has the responsibility gone? So, now you do a "prank" that causes 2 deaths at the age of 18/19 and you're just being a kid? I believe that is called manslaughter, not a prank. They should get serious jail time.

It's the only type of crime where no kind of restitution is possible. That calls for taking the punishment up one or more levels.

So am I going to have to be the asshole who says that these 18 and 19 year olds shouldn't have their lives ruined considering the victims were probably not hanging around too much longer (80 and 85 year olds, probably shouldn't have been driving in the first place). I know it sounds cruel but it's also reality.

Yeah its not exactly impossible to tell that theres a stop sign there still. Stupid prank, but competent drivers under 80, 95/100 wouldnt have a hard time telling thats still a stop sign.
