The original argument is Boise doesn't play a conference gauntlet so OBVIOUSLY my argument is a top-to-bottom conference one. You guys are really reaching here to try and prove me wrong, considering my argument is the conference one. Mulva threw out indiana, minnesota, not me.

Fresno State had 2.
Idaho had 3.
New Mexico State had 1.
Nevada had 3.
Utah State had 1 (3rd round)


Did Boise play those teams? Please spin.

Karen, in simpleton terms for you:

Boise doesn't play a top to bottom conference gauntlet, against dozens of NFL players (25+), like BCS schools do. What is your counter to that?!

For the record, Karen, that 1st rounder from Purdue is the sole reason they beat OSU 2 years ago. 9 tackles, 4 tfl, 3 sacks, 2 FF.

And who exactly does Boise play like that? No one.

The bulk of those guys come from 1-2 schools in each conference. What percentage comes from Ohio State and Michigan in the Big 10? We all know that Indiana, Minnesota, and Michigan State haven't been sending them (see above)

Who is talking in circles? You go from talking about middling teams, to top to bottom, to players drafted, to players drafted less than 8 years ago, to players drafted in the first 3 rounds to now teams that knocked off BCS Bowl teams. You also have said numerous times there is no counter argument to be made. Its easy to claim that when the argument is constantly changing.

No, the overall feeling is that somebody who plays in the Big 10 plays a mythic schedule filled with great teams and dominant defenses, but at least 1/3 of the conference is putrid. Another 2-3 schools are occasionally putrid and it leaves you with a handful of solid teams.

Penn State has shown just how much you should take them seriously on a national stage each year. They get their pants taken down every time they play somebody good who is from outside the Big 10.

The point remains that the MountainWest doesn't lag as far behind the Big 10 as some might like to think

No one said playing those teams wasn't a tough stretch. One of lhs' stances is top to bottom the Big Ten is a gauntlet. Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue is not a part of that. If he is going to say top to bottom, then you have to include top to bottom.

Well yeah obviously the Big Ten is a stronger conference than the WAC. That doesn't mean Boise should get credit for what they are doing.

The thought I have on all of this is pretty simple. Boise State has elite talent. Kellen Moore is as good of a QB as there is in the country, with the only exception possible being Andrew Luck, but when you only play twice a year against a team that is decent enough to beat you, I'm not sure you deserve to play in the championship game going undefeated over someone who plays 5-6 teams that could beat them and stumbles once. I can understand both sides of the argument, but anyone who thinks Boise really plays a schedule that is almost on par with any Big Ten, Big 12, or SEC team is fooling themselves.
