Maybe, but there isn't a lot of substance to the argument with Cincy because they are a BCS team anyway. This whole thing with Congress started with teams like Utah, Boise, etc. not getting a cut of the pie. Cincy is going to get its money and though they're portrayed much like one of those mid-major teams, I don't think many people outside Cincy care to use them as an example of what is wrong.

Agree about the TCU-Boise game. After I posted that, I thought you could be right about Cincy. I'm was thinking that nobody really cared when it was Auburn and Cincy certainly has much less national respect than Auburn. But, the ball had never really gotten rolling on the talk (when it comes to Congress) at that time anyway, so it could be a completely different story this time. Still not going to root for Cincy though.

To the people who say "there are more important things to work on in congress" or whatever, I just want to take a second to laugh at you. Of course there are more important things, but just because a subcommittee of congress is working on a bill DOESN'T mean that they are just ignoring all other problems in the country. It's highly ignorant to think congress has focused all its efforts on one bill, and do you really believe anything that congress can do can fix this country? No, they've already ruined this country countless times and I'd rather have them wasting time on a anti-BCS bill then planning another bailout for another failed industry.

Didn't Utah beat Alabama in a BCS bowl last season? How about Boise State over Oklahoma a couple years back? Did that start this tidal wave of change to the BCS system? NOPE!

Get a grip folks, this is just politics. Nothing will come of it other than a name change at the most. The BCS will be business as usual. The pipe dream of a D1 playoff becoming a reality is just that...a pipe dream!

That's one way to look at it.

I don't understand this at all. We have alot more important issues in this country for Congress to be involved with than trying to create a playoff system for FBS Football. The BCS is a joke, but let the powers that be within the NCAA figure out what to do about the BCS and a playoff system, especially since in the end it is highly unlikely anything binding will result from the debate in Congress.

Since Obama is in favor of this bill, that automatically means that the Republicans will be against it.
