Our banged up Tribe try to handle the A's while hoping for the Royals to beat the Tigers in the D.

Monday- McCarthy v Huff
Tuesday- Cahill v TBD
Wednesday- Harden v Jimenez
Thursday- Gonzalez v Carmona

Thursday is a soft tossing lefty so that is an instant loss. Realistically, we are looking at a split at best here.

Go Tribe.

Thanks for a sometimes frustrating, but overall fun couple of months tribe.

Yeah, it is....but WHAT IF ?

The team is still fighting, so I won't abandon them....and I think Detroit has at least one more losing streak in them.

Plus That'll be Big Jim's day off, as Acta has already said that Thome won't play in afternoon games following nite games.

Still rooting for them to do well. Hopefully they continue to take that year-to-year jump and next year they can actually win the division.

Should be interesting to see what happens in the offseason as well.

Not the least of which is what to do with Sizemore. The Tribe has a $ 9 million option on next year. It'll be hard for them to pick that up given Grady's injury proneness lately. Carerra seems so unpolished, so I'm not sure he's the answer.

...and speaking of Sizemore, rumors are that he'll be ready for a rehab assignment later in the week.

Well we have Choo, Fuk, and Brantley. Plus Crowe will be back.

no way they bring grady back at 9 mil and i dont see grady taking a pay cut. so with no grady next year, choo will be penciled in for right and then brantley, fukudome, carrera and crowe can fight it out for the starting nods in center and left (and i'd imagine some washed up reclamation project will be in the fold as well)

Just get the division down to 3 before that last series with detroit to give us a chance that's all you can ask for at this point

I think the biggest question is what to do with Hafner. I can't see them paying him 13 mil to play a half a season and hit 10 HR. Has to be one of the worst contracts in baseball. They have to try to move him or talk him into restructuring his contract. Maybe he would go for an incentive based contract.

As for this year....it's probably over with all the injuries. But you never know and I'll keep watching and rooting.

I like the optimism, but I can't even picture staying above .500 with the lineup we have. The pitching seems to be wearing out and the injuries just keep stacking up. If we are in it at the end....Acta deserves manager of the year.

Shapiro was on 92.3 this afternoon and he gave every indication that Sizemore would be back with the Tribe next year. Could've been lip service but that was the impression he gave.

eh, Fukudome is an unranked free agent who cannot be offered arbitration....in other words, unless we sign him to a new contract he is gone. Currently his salary pays him about $11 million. I don't think he'll get that...but I'm not sure the Tribe will ante up to what it will take to keep him....if they actually want to.

Of the remaining, nobody can play CF like Grady.

If anything has really cost the team the past few weeks, it has been the AAA defense....the outfield play has been horrible, particularly in center. Also the inability of our second basemen to turn a major league double play has cost us too.

Huff has pitched great...unfortunately McCarthey is pitching just as well. At least he's a good pitcher and not some middling lefty we're turning into Sandy Koufax
