A man charged with stealing a Toledo police cruiser and then assaulting a police officer was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury.
Kent Crozier, 22, of Curtice, Ohio, is accused of driving off in a marked police cruiser that was parked outside El Camino Real restaurant, 2500 West Sylvania Ave. He is charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and assault.
Police said officers responded to a disturbance on Aug. 23 and were investigating when Mr. Crozier allegedly stole the car. It was later located in the 2200 block of Fairfax Avenue. Mr. Crozier, who was arrested there, head-butted an officer while being taken into custody, police said. He is in custody in the Lucas County jail on a $60,000 bond.
