I grabbed one when they came in stock earlier today at BHphoto for a few minutes...Been following the thread for awhile each day since it was first post on slickdeals.

Yes, hence the 300 price drop. HP is also killing off their PC division, or at least spinning it off somewhere else.

They're thinking about doing that from what I understand. The spin off of their PC division isn't a certainty yet.

I'd be pissed if I were an HP stakeholder since they paid more than a billion for webOS like a year ago and didn't even pretend to attempt to make it more mainstream. The Touchpad and the Veer were pathetic attempts.

Yeah, I'm just trying to justify the purchase since I don't really need one. I realize it's only $100 for a tablet, but it's still $100 that I wasn't planning on spending.

Yeah, I went through the same thought process.

I happened to have an old asus netbook that I haven't touched in about 2 years, so I put that on ebay and will probably get $75 or so out of it at the most, bought this for $99, so for the extra $25 if I look as it as a 'trade' scenario, I couldn't resist.

Picked up a 16 gb from Walmart when they dropped their price. Good deal on a nice little tablet. If you look at the prices for even just a quality digital photo frame this is a great deal. If a person wants to play around on the net and use it as a media player it is great for that.

WebOS is not dead, HP is getting out of the hardware business and focusing on software. Even at that there are those that are rooting this thing to run Android and are in the beginning stages of developement.

My son has an ipad 1 and likes it well enough. I would have purchased an ipad2 for myself when it became available, its lack of being able to play Adobe Flash is a huge drawback IMHO.

Amazon has them, just sold out of 16gb ---- still 32gb as of now I believe...
