So do you all know of any good spots besides Wheeling Downs and Oglebay golf courses? I will be there at least 1 or 2 nights per week for work and will have some down time in the evenings and some in the afternoons well hell whenever I want really. But anyways any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The Downs and Godfather's is about all you've got.

Check out Bella Via or Figaretti's for some good Italian eats.

They got those in Wheeling or is it exclusively an Ohio thing?

Hocut's for lunch, its a bbq place. Salsa Cafe for a burrito (better than chipotle). Bella via is very good . If you want Mexican go to Alcapulco, get the all you can eat its only 8.50 but its not a buffet its all made fresh. Chinese or sushi go to Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville its called Osaka . Italian food Undos is very good the one in elm grove turns into a bar at night. Colemans is great as well

Bars/ Wings on Mondays go to 19th hole. On tuesday The alpha ( has great food as well one side is a restuarant and one side is a bar. Chips and salsa are great) . Also Generations is a good pub. River City also has good food and is a decent bar. Wakims is a small bar great drink prices and Wakim dogs are great( never had it sober ).

If you want to see the best football team in west virginia play..check out wheeling central on a friday or saturday. jills gentlemans club is there, godfathers is about a 15 minute drive in moundsville.

wheeling is like the capital of the ohio valley..its nothing great.

Find somewhere with free wi-fi and use your computer to find a new job. One that doesn't require you to go to Wheeling so often,...... or ever.

You mean the Blue and Gold Cameron Dragons? I know all about them. If you are in Cameron you could also go to the pool its shape is a half circle. The reason for that shape is because the town was to poor to destroy the rest of the cliff so they left it at the half circle. So they left it and made it like the beach. It used to have a underwater lifeguard station not sure if it's still there now.

lol..but really why have you ever been there? I have only been there for sports and that is the only reason and will probably never be there again.

Instead of spending your time in Wheeling, just take a 45 minute drive to Pittsburgh.

Go get some breakfast at Sonny Boy in Bridgeport.
Be sure to get a few slices of pizza from DiCarlo's Pizza in Elm Grove.
Go get a few hot dogs from Gulla's in Bellaire (be sure to get everything on it, or at least get the sauce)

TJ's Sports Garden is a good bar to watch ball games at and food is good (bottom of the hill before going up to Olgebay.

If you want the college scene, head up the hill to Bubba's in Bethany (both Bethany and West Liberty students frequent often)or Drover's for wings outside of Bethany.

Generations is also good place to hang out as previously mentioned.

^^^TJ's hasn't been very good the past couple of years.

As for Sonny Boy, go there. My grandparents live like 3 minutes away from that place and I've been going there since I was a kid. Great food.

As for Pizza, Zontini's>DiCarlos

You're nuts!! Zontini's is good, but doesn't compare to EGD. Only someone from Ferry/Bridgeport would make that insane claim!

I haven't been to the Down's lately, but I've heard its been hit pretty hard with the table games being allowed in PA. When they first allowed them in WV that place was happenin.

Tanger's Outlets just outside Washington, PA, and the Wildthings for a cheap night out, it's a nice little park and on this side of Washington. And you always have Steubenville just 30 minutes to the north in case Wheeling is too exciting. Has anyone eaten at Alpha's in Wheeling?
