I just read that on CNN and watched the video. I think they kinda failed at their attack on Amazon. (At least that's what the article said)

I mean a DDos attack is more annoying that crippling in the long term. It depends on what you consider a success.

I hope they don't decide to hack this site and steal everyones vCash. Does Justin have the proper security encryption to protect our vCash accounts?

True dat !!! But giving up after an hour because you didn't have enough people...

I'm pretty sure it will have the same effect on FB, but I'll sit back and watch to see what happens.

This will never happen. They might take Facebook down for a day or two, but it'll be back up and running in no time, if any time is lost at all.

The big fad right now is for all these hacker groups, be it Anonymous or LulzSec, etc., to have a little fun with different sites. They might do a little Denial of Service attack and direct people somewhere other than Facebook, but how long do you really think it will last? The video made it sound as if they would destroy Facebook. Well, go ahead and destroy it. You know they probably back up everything once a day if not more, so it'll be restored as soon as the DoS is completed.

I'm pretty sure that Facebook's security will be significantly better than Pizza Hut's or some politician's, who happened to be the most recent targets of similar types of attacks.

This is just my opinion, though. I hope I'm wrong - I'd love to see Facebook go down. But I don't think it'll happen.

this might actually be a good thing.

All of those people who spend hours upon hours surfing it a day at work might actually get some production

If this results in a fix for what they did to the chat box, I'm all for it.

And don't tell me about the popout feature, I already know about it.

Facebook reportedly has more "extra" server space than Amazon, and Anonymous couldn't even get Amazon down.
