Yeah its gone downhill. My first one was in in '04 and each year it was progressively worse. Last time I went there were so many cops on Court St...it was ridiculous.

Every weekend at OU is better than Halloween. Bunch of people from out of town coming in trying to go all crazy...and you can't get any cell phone service!!

The regular weekends are great...the house parties, bar scenes, liquor, beer, drugs, girls...all glorious. The fests are that multiplied by 100.

I went down there to visit my buddies quite a bit when I was an undergrad. I cant really tell the difference between OU and OSU parties, the bar scene/parties all seem the same to me. I have had some really good times at both places.

If I had to pick between OSU and OU I would pick OSU mainly because of the parties/bars for football weekends, that atmosphere is hard to beat

The only thing that makes OU #1 is their Halloween. Besides that, the party scene isnt much different than most other major universities. If you think otherwise, you probably havent been to very many other places. JMO

And its not a knock on OU, because I've had good times there. But I've also had good times at Kent, Akron, OSU, etc

If you can't tell the difference between OU bars and OSU bars, then I am skeptical whether or not you've ever been to either

I agree, two very different bar scenes IMO. OU has a lot more of your traditional "college bars". OSU has those but also has the downtown scene which is a bit more upscale. I've had good times at both places but I personally prefer OSU's variety in types of bars.

What I liked about partying at OU is the laid back spirit the students seem to have for partying. Seems like most students are always open and welcoming to randoms to coming to their house to party. My school, and other schools I visited, you would get many looks at a party if you weren't a recognizable person.

Also despite being constantly ranked near (or now at) the top of these princeton rankings, OU students seem to always have an inferiority complex with OSU when it comes to partying for whatever reason. I remember when OSU was having their block parties on Woodruff and Chittenden, a bunch of OU students were bitching that they were trying to copy OU...as if OU invented the concept of a block party. Really both schools can party in two very different ways.

Homecoming and moms weekend are the best 2 weekends at ou btw the school has good academics with a great journalism and business school. It also made the list of most beautiful campus. The reason you can party so hard at ou is because you can walk everywhere.

Not sure if its #1 or not, but I did have a good time whenever I went down there. Never went for Halloween or any of the Fests.

Exactly...its apples to oranges the two environments...not that either is a bad thing, they're just different...I always have fun at ohio state and of course always had fun at ou

A Few Random Moments from our House Parties and random weekends

1. A girl falling out our attic window

2. The girl climbing into our female roommates window and crawling in bed with her

3. A guy masterbating while passed out on our couch "finishing" standing up and pissing on the couch while everyone watched in horror

3. Running out of 180 eggs and four kegs from 5am to 8am on homecoming weekend

4. going to wv for everclear for jungle juice

5. Peter Kings homecoming parade car breaking down in front of our house and him having a beer with us ( same weekend as the eggs)

6. some guy mowing our grass every saturday and taking a nap in the front yard for two years then being told by our landlord he didnt pay anyone to cut our grass when we called because it was long

7. bong hill

8. one fest

9. jesty beatz

10. beating pittsburgh in football

11. making march madness

12. all of ou going to hilton head one weekend each spring quarter

13. a drunk mom and son throwing full beers across our house on moms weekend

14. passed out moms on court street

Everyone wants to talk about how bad OU's academics are (better than most public schools in the state,) and how embarrassing it is for us, but they all want to come here and act like jackasses during Halloween and fest season.

This thread makes me regret never going down to OU. I mean BG was great, and I loved our bars. However, OU seems magical.
