I'm a little annoyed by this. I'll definitely still watch the movie, but not having Jason Bourne will seem so weird. I think I've read somewhere that Damon's character is still unaccounted for after surviving the jump into the river at the end of the Bourne Ultimatum, and that he is expected to return if/when another movie in the series is made. I haven't read all the Bourne books, but didn't the movies follow pretty closely to the books until this?Laley23;1190629 wrote:Yep. Stupid studios couldnt wait for Damon and Greengass (director) to be finished with Green Zone to start the process. So they aid they would go in a different direction. Then Damon signed on for Adjustment Bureau and True Grit. So they just got new people. Yet it still took them till 2012 to finish and release it. So dumb.
I have a feeling it will still be really good, just look at the cast. But Renner, no matter what he does, wont be able to top Damon imo.

There are 5 books. But Ludluhm only wrote 3 before he died. This movie does take a new direction from the 4th book. But the 4th book itself was taken in a new direction, from what I understand. The first 3 were pretty close though, yes.ironman02;1193659 wrote:I'm a little annoyed by this. I'll definitely still watch the movie, but not having Jason Bourne will seem so weird. Took my daughter to see Madagascar 3 last night. It was ok, but I didn't see the second one, so I was totally lost.

Avengers still made 10 mil this weekend.
An acquaintance from high school believes Spider-Man will do better than Avengers and Dark Knight Rises. I told him he was crazy but judging from his Facebook posts he is biased towards Spider-Man.

I loved it. It didn't answer all the questions that it brought forth but I don't think it had to. The atmosphere and acting was fantastic. Fassbender should be nominated for something.bigdaddy2003;1194504 wrote:What did you think of it?

That link contains a pretty interesting analysis and explanation of the various mythological references and plot points within the film.

I doubt either movie will come close to Avengers... I don't think it's outside of the realm of possibility for Spider-Man to challenge Batman though...bigdaddy2003;1196219 wrote:Avengers still made 10 mil this weekend.

All 3 of the Spider-Man movies grossed more than Nolan's first Batman did. TDK was really carried by the Joker, IMO. I honestly think the new Spider-Man looks like it'll be the better movie.

The new Spider-Man film I doubt grosses that closly to either the Avengers or TDKR. And I have a feeling TDKR won't get to the Avengers either, that was a perfect movie for selling lots of tickets.

Spider-Man will make a lot of $$$, no doubt. But unless it is really, really good it has no chance of beating TDKR given that Spider-Man 3 left such a bad taste in the franchise (holy #^$% it was terrible) and Garfield isn't exactly a well-known star. I don't even plan on watching it in the theater.

I disagree completely. I think the new spiderman looks horrible. The CGI is laughable. I think DKR will be a let down from the previous film but it will still be better than Spiderman.hoops23;1196232 wrote: I honestly think the new Spider-Man looks like it'll be the better movie.

+1 to this. Spiderman has a big following, but the trailer looks god awful. A little too soon with the reboot too, especially with the spiderman story, I feel like there isn't much else you can do with the spiderman plot compared to batman.Commander of Awesome;1196325 wrote:I disagree completely. I was pretty disappointed with Prometheus. Im with OhioBucks in expecting sooo much more. Pretty much nothing was explained. And after seeing the ending and then reading the Wiki page about the movie just left me even more annoyed(If the things on the wiki page are correct that is).

I liked Prometheus. Wasn't the best movie I'll see this year but far from the worst. I agree that Fassbender should be nominated for an award. You know there's a sequel coming...wonder what direction it will take?
