What has Sizemore done in the last decade that has ANYONE even CONSIDERING picking up his option for next year. Brantley? Yeah, he is solid, but not a star. He will hit .290-.310 (in best year) and 10 HRs. Solid, but nothing spectacular. For those numbers, Id hope for 35+ steals....he currently has 12??

Choo, yeah, he is a very solid player when he is putting up numbers (not this year). But at the same time, .300 20 HR and 90 RBI isnt an All-Star for a RF. Those power numbers ideally would be higher, though his average/power and SB numbers make up for it to make him comparable to others.

I'm sure this trade has the Tigers and ChiSox shaking in their shoes. This trade by itself is not going to be enough to win the division. If you can add a RH power hitter,however, this could really be significant.

That's why I said when Sizemore and Choo come back. I know he's always hurt. Hell, I'd be fine if we traded him once he was healthy. He is damn good, he's just been so injury prone that he's not worth keeping. I'd be fine with leaving Brantley in center. He is young, does as good of a job as Sizemore used to, and he's showing signs of improvement. Just off of the top of my head I can't think of a trio that is BETTER. I wouldn't compare them to the Yankees, of course. But when it comes down to it I can't come up with three.

Exactly. The trade was worthless. I don't see why people like the trade. I hope Fukudome proves me wrong.

Sizemore isn't "damn good". He is a career .270 hitter. That is very average.

off the top of my head texas, baltimore, & the dodgers (even with a folding chair in left) are better

A leadoff hitter that doesn't get on base, has twice as many career strikeouts as walks, and averages 16 stolen bases a year isn't anything special. He has only hit above .280 in two seasons. He has only had OBP above .350 3 times. These are very average numbers for an 8 year veteran.

grady had a great 3-4 year stretch but his best days are good 3 years behind him. he's a shell of his former stretch and it'd be a crime to pick up his option

I'm ok with it because we didn't give up anything to get him. He is just average, but we haven't even put an average guy in the outfield the last couple weeks. We lost a game because we only had two outfielders. If we would have had him that night, we would only be half a game out right now.

Can't necessarily say that. What if Fukudome would have had a shit night? What we NEED is for Laporta to play up to his capability. We NEED to find a 3rd basemen and not rotate them in and out. Someone has to get comfortable there. When Laporta starts (hopefully) playing up to his potential he'll be a big threat. Until then we'll have mediocre pitchers and a bunch of "up and coming" players.

If you are counting on LaPorta to do anything, you have a long wait. The guy hasn't even shown any potential at all. He can't even field at first base.

Potential and production are two different things. He HAS potential, but sadly, it doesn't look like he has the work ethic.

He has shown zero potential. He isn't even close to level of Garko, and Garko sucked.

I'd like to see them make a move too. I don't think they are better than the Yanks, Red Sox, or Rangers over 162 game schedule, but they don't have to be better than those teams over 162 games. With their pitching, they could be dangerous to those teams in a 7 game series. I only see the tribe as an average team, but with the division they are in, an average team will win it (someone has to)

You're right. Someone HAS to... Seattle Seahawks.

I just hope we plan on holding onto what talent we have and building on it. As soon as we start trading all of our players away for prospects again is when I'm a very unhappy, let-down Tribe fan.

I can say that. Because if Fukodome is in LF it means Carerra is not...and he is the reason we lost. Playing in the LF stands and then not trying to catch the ball, but rather playing the hop and trying to throw him out at home. Fukodome catches the second ball and doesnt allow a double on the first. I will take that stance to my grave.

Carerra was in CF, and he is a young player. They make mistakes. That's how they learn.

Valbuena was in left, and he misplayed two balls in the 9th that cost the tribe the game. If we have Fukudome that night, we win.
