Going after that 1st pitch fastball up and in put him behind the 8-ball right off!

Lots of wierd hops tonight. Izzy wouldn't have had such a tough time if Cairo's ball wouldn't have hopped so high. Should have been the final out if the field was in normal condition.

That is the game. Dustyball and plate approaches. Izzy was turning wild and on 2-2 Stubbs swung hard on a pitch going near his chin....on 3-2 he chases a pitch that never had a chance at the strike zone...missed it by 16 inches....Izzy continues VERY wild and walks the bases loaded....so it's very easy....no control so Phillips should be looking for his FAVORITE pitch on pitch 1....you know it's a fastball....but make sure it's where you're looking for it....if not take. Phillips wails at a ball not that close on pitch 1????? Should've been ball 1 and then he throws another fastball on 1-0.

Baseball is a finicky game: if Wright doesn't butcher the ground ball in the 9th, Izzy has an easy save. Instead, he survives a "shaky" 9th.
