A long time since the Reds have been successful with runner on 3rd and less than two outs, but this time they are as Votto grounds to to first. Defense is the difference in this game so far, with the throw out at home by the Reds and the weak defensive catching by the Braves. Today the Reds take advantage of the SB. Last night they didn't. Cozart did what Stubbs and Lewis failed to do last night.

Although it appeared that a safe Heyward was called out, Gomes made his play and the blame would have gone to Hanigan who was in good position, but made the mistake of reaching way toward the ball and having to make a long sweep tag instead of letting the ball come to him and making a quick tag.

Uggla hits a soft fly ball that lands 3 ft in front of Jonny. He probably didn't have to move 10 ft to catch it.

Bailey does a nice job getting Heyward & McCann to leave the bases loaded. Reds need a long inning to get Bailey some rest.

Reds get the lead-off hitter on again, but Dusty eschews the steal attempt by Lewis, who was successful last night, and Gomes destroys the inning with the 5-4-3 DP. Reds fall behind the 1 run per inning pace it seems it will take today to win the game.

Lead-off hitter on again for the 3rd straight inning, and Homer bunts into a DP to destroy the 3rd for the Reds offense.

After 3 innings, Lowe 32 and Homer 67 pitches!

One of Votto's unconventional throws costs the Reds! Is Janish eligible to come back up yet?

I bet Cozart is out longer than Pujols. Votto's throw was with little power, because of his throwing style, and McClouth beat it and it tailed into the runner injuring Cozart's glove wrist.

Fielder's wrong choice is the proper scoring decision. The error was in Votto's mid which is not allowed to be scored as an error in the scoring system.

Votto now so scared to hit the runner, he pulls Renteria off 2nd on a DP ball.

No chance to double up Heyward there.

Freeman makes a great play to keep the Reds lead-off hitter from reaching for the 4th straight inning.

Like I said, Bad News Bears. My 8 yr. old niece could make that catch Fred Lewis.
