Two seperate 10.1 violations are being mentioned here.

ESPN does not have to cover everything..yes. But they should at least be a bit consistent.

So they should report on a press conference that didn't happen? ESPN didn't report shit until OSU had their surprise PC either.

They don't play on ESPN, but they are still covered by ESPN. To bad ESPN from your school is a joke.

You really want to hang your hat on "you treated us worse than all of the other dirty programs"?

The NCAA is holding a press conference in which a major D1 program is being accused of major violations..yeah, I think a very small article wouldn't hurt. I mean they are the news; they should be reporting shit like that.

Maybe he works for ESPN, and he's waiting to see all the facts before he acknowledges any of the violations? :)

Yeah. You know, all the backtracking and the lack of post from such a knowledgeable and beloved poster kinda gave it away. (Seriously hope you sense the sarcasm, LoL)

ESPN is usually late to the game on actual news.

Why would people expect otherwise?

As already noted: this isn't a big deal. Sounds like LSU handled it correctly. If the NCAA gives them anything more (other than probation for a year or two), it would be overkill.

major violations. The guy never played a down, his scholly was not renewed, the coach was fired.
Quite different from the way Tressel did it.

Nobody here will argue that. Nobody even thinks they deserve further punishment. This thread is simply about cats and him saying lsu was squeaky clean.

ND is on ESPN/ABC when they arent at home.

Their home games are on NBC...which is a NATIONAL channel covering ONLY ND. If OSU was to say fuck off to ESPN, they would be covered by......who? The BTN, and thats about it.

NBC - ND
ESPN/ABC - Fuck you guys
CBS - SEC
Fox - Do they do college football anymore?

Good call on never having OSU play another national game again lol. And lets face it, any school not getting coverage from ESPN is going to be hurting more than ESPN is by not covering them...even if it is a SMALL amount.

Not to mention, not being ON ESPN and not being covered by ESPN is different. You really think it would be good for OSU to never be talked about on their shows or anything?

OSU can't leave ESPN even if they wanted to. The Big Ten controls TV rights for all of their schools. Unlike in the Big XII where Texas gets to do whatever they want and the rest of the schools have to go along with it, there is actually some equity in the B1G.
