Who gives a shit whether ESPN covered him all year?

ESPN screwed up, they overlooked the best player in college football most of the year. It's not that he's winning it because of his last game, it's that ESPN was too stupid to take notice of him until the last game of the season.

What exactly are you people you people trying to argue? That he shouldn't win it or that he won't win it?

Nebraska sucked, that's not ESPN's fault. They're not going to put them on over others.

ESPN did what was expected, show the games the most people wanted to see. They screwed up by humpin' the wrong leg in Tebow.

Nebraska is just as good as Stanford and Gerhardt received far more coverage.

But regardless, who cares who ESPN showed? Suh is the best player in the country. The fact he wasn't on voters radar until the last game of the season only serves to show how ridiculous the Heisman voting process really is.

The belief thatESPN didn't cover him that much or voters didn't have him on their radar all season doesn't matter much now. He's finally getting the recognition that he deserves and has a decent shot of winning this thing. In the end, I doubt if he will, but he's already at a disadvantage by playing exclusively on the defensive side of the ball. The fact the he's even in consideration is very impressive.

I'm happy that Suh is invited to NYC and I'll be fine with it if he wins the Heisman. I really won't have a problem with any of the guys winning it, unless it's Tebow, which should be impossible now.

Again, and perhaps I can get an answer this time: what are you people arguing?

That he hasn't been on the radar until last week? Okay great, I agree.

Are you arguing he doesn't deserve to be on the radar now? That he should have been all year but is just now receiving recognition? That he won't win the Heisman because of this? That he shouldn't win the Heisman because of this?

Who are you actually talking to? My point is that even though he may not have received as much media coverage as the other candidates, it doesn't mean he has been any less impressive. He deserves to be a finalist and if he wins it, I would be happy with that decision. He has been dominant throughout the season and people should have been paying attention to him before now.

I thought I was pretty clear. Joe bag-o-heisman voter isn't going to watch every damn game on the tube and really put the thought we all think the award deserves into his decision. That Heisman ballot sits next to the microwave for two months untill somebody reminds them to get their vote in.

OK, maybe not to that extent, but I bet it's closer to reality than thinking some of these guys actually put forth a serious effort and analysis. They make their decision in the last week or two in the season, they make popular choices so they don't look stupid when their vote is exposed.

Maybe I'm way off but I see that as more realistic.

No you're exactly right. I thought you might be saying that Suh doesn't deserve the Heisman because ESPN didn't lick his balls. I'm in complete agreement that the Heisman has turned into a joke because of the exact attitude you outlined.

I would love a Suh choice...I would actually have a little more respect for the award, at least this year.

...and you continue to be wrong. There isn't a link attached to Suh because he is a defensive player and doesn't have a profile. ESPN doesn't track individual defensive statistics.

First you say he was never mentioned on Gameday all season because you watch it all the time. I give you a link of the Gameday crew talking about how a defensive player should garner some heisman attention, followed by a story on Suh. Then you say he was just brought into the heisman discussion because of his performance against Texas, when they have been talking about him for most of the year as being one of the most dominant players in college football....and his name just added, obviously, because he didn't have a link?

Some more stats that I noticed in addition to the ones I already knew.

82 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, 1 INT, 10 pass deflections, 3 blocked kicks.

Post all the links you want where Suh isn't high on the list but I'll trust StiffArmTrophy.com before I believe what I'm seeing on ESPN.

I'm pulling for Gerhart!

Would like to see McCoy win but I think it will be Ingram because so many voters were waiting till this past weekend to cast their vote and Ingram had a good game while McCoy and "Crybaby" Tebow struggled. On Gameday one of those with a vote didn't even have McCoy on his list of who he might vote for, he had Ingram, Gerhart, and Tebow. At least now it can be Gameday again instead of "Tim Tebow Day".

I don't know how anyone can vote for ingram... when he didn't show up for a few games... Akansas and Auburn. But you have Gerhart who showed up every game and had more 100+ and 200+ yard games with better stats.
