Suh is a manbeast who is probably the best player in college this year, but he won't win.

I'll say Ingram is the one to beat.

Spiller deserved an invite after saturday's performance (20 CAR- 233 yds, 11 ypc, 4tds). He wouldn't have won, but he deserved it every bit as much or not more than Gerhart, Suh and Tim Frickin Tebow. ESPN is turning football into NASCAR, where they pimp their favorites and forget about everyone else. Oh well. Spiller will get the laugh on those guys in the upcoming draft.

He is good, but other DT's have put up better stats and not won the heisman before. William Perry (The Fridge) ate those numbers up (he had over 100 tackles and more TFL, when there were two less games) and wasn't even in the running.

Pretty good list of finalists, but I agree with ohiotiger33 that CJ Spiller should have been there. He has been consistently good the entire season, scoring at least one TD in every game, plus he scored TDs five different ways (rush, rec, pass, punt ret, and kick ret). He's a great overall player that has the stats to back it up. I think he should have been finalist #5 over Tebow, but team success probably hurt him.

I'm not familiar with past DT stats other than the ones just mentioned, but I've been impressed by Suh all year. I feel like he could very well be the best player in the nation, but I don't think he'll win it. Looks like Colt McCoy still has a chance, but I think the favorites have to be Gerhart and Ingram. Playing in the SEC on an undefeated team may be the thing that pushes Ingram over the top.

All that said, my vote would go to Gerhart. Great stats, consistent production, and definitely valuable to his team. Without Gerhart, Stanford would have been mediocre at best.

Oh of course team success hurt him. But this is not a team award. Tommy Tuberville just asked where Spiller was, and ESPN basically ignored him to show clips of Tebow. Awful bias on that channel these days. If they had just showed his highlights ever week (which were incredible) he would be there. ESPN radio just said he got shafted. Guess that is what we get with ESecPN.

Exactly, but the people who vote on it don't see it that way for some reason. Unless it's 2007 and your name is Tim Tebow, of course.

Replace Tebow with Spiller and those would be my picks.

I would love to see Suh get it, he's getting a ton of 1st place votes. Looks like Gerhart will pull it out and I can live with that.

Toby Gerhart should win. I said McCoy until his performance against Nebraska, and Gerhart's performance against ND.

I said McCoy even after the Nebraska game, I didn't anticipate Suh getting so many votes. Suh getting his is probably what's putting Gerhart in the lead imo.

Yeah no way should Suh win...you can't have him winning the Heisman because of one game. (i know i know, he's had an overall good season...but he wasn't really even mentioned near the top before the Texas game.)

Just because ESPN didn't mention the guy doesn't mean he hasn't been good all year. ESPN is too busy talking about Tebow 24/7 to mention anyone else.

I agree, and I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying I didn't see Suh high on any heisman lists (not just ESPN) all year until the Texas game.
