Nope I believe it is this:
1. Ends the game, and his team wins
2. Not the winning pitcher
3. Pitches at least 1/3 of an inning
4. One of the following
----a. enters the game with a lead no more than 3, and pitches an inning
----b. enters the game with tying run either on deck, on base, or at bat
----c. pitxhes at least 3 innings
Perez was the b. in the scenerio. As the tying run was on deck. With 0 outs though, you HAVE to count all 3 batters that are scheduled to bat, since it cant be assumed a double play will occur. Thus, the 6 run lead thing.
