Carpenter vs Cueto

Kinda must see for sure.

I think Cueto will be outstanding or get lit up.

Cueto hasn't been lit up in almost 10 months, so I like the Reds' chances to stay in it. Huge series.

I know he hasn't. I'd guess he'll be great....but this is the scenario where he might not be in control.

Just don't pitch the Lance Berkman the entire series and Cincy wins 3 out of 4 :)

This is a 3 game series. Reds need to take this to make a little run this week. A winning record and they will be right there in the standings.

Wonder if Jason LaRue and Carpenter will sit around before the game accusing Cueto of ending LaRue's career? Haha. There was a good chance LaRue's career was going to end after the season long before Cueto karate kicked him in the head

LaRue's career was already over. The dude sucked ass and had already had a ton of concussions.

I couldn't believe it when I heard Bruce made the ASG. I guess giving the players the right to pick the reserves is as big a joke as the fan voting. Hopefully Coco can get in as a replacement.

Was very surprised Bruce was selected as well.

Thought mccutcheon should have gotten in over Bruce.

Hope the reds beat carpenter. But not too bad. He'll start blaming the reds for the balls and then cry if he doesn't win.

Might have to be multiple pitchers bow out for that to happen, as one thing I've heard is that the first replacement pitcher would likely be 11-game winner Correia.

Just heard the lineup on 700. Lewis is leading off batting first. Rolen and Stubbs are back in. Renteria in again.

Ironman, your boy Wily Mo hit another rocket today. Had to be 450+.

I'm pretty pissed Heisey isn't in center again tonight.

Cueto lucked out on the 3-1 pitch that was called a strike when it was well off the plate, then he gets a fly ball out on the next pitch to retire the lead-off batter.

Cueto has 3-0 counts on two batters, but gets out of the inning unscathed on 13 pitches, half of what Carpenter threw in the first.

Another bad call on the strike 3 call to Renteria to end the 2nd inning. How did Chipper Jones characterize the officiating in MLB? SUB-STANDARD He is correct and if they can't get the umpires to be any more reliably competent than that, the need electronically called balls and strikes. It is a shame to be so unfair to very competent professional hitters that can judge balls and strikes better than the officials.

Carp is getting 3 inches off the plate to right handers on his curve. Lewis, Votto and Bruce will have to do the damage if he gets that call all game.

Carpenter making some plays! Two F-1s in the score book in only the 3rd inning.

4th inning two of those will be in the first 3 batters, so the 4th will be critical to Carpenter, and to those batters who cannot give away their ABs.
