That bullshit last play almost cost me. Lions wouldnt have covered the -6.5 lol. Thank God they tackled him at the 2!

...and because I am stubborn, that is why you make a challenge early on. Anytime you put your team in a MUCH better position to get the ball back, you take it. I dont think you need many challenges in a game...Detroit only needed the 1 today. Dont save them, you likely wont use them.

Packers will take the NFC

Ravens vs. Patriots for the AFC Championship

only question is who faces the Packers

Steelers remain a possibility to surprise and crash the party

The steelers arent crashing any party with that old defense and absolutely no offensive line, sorry. Not even you can believe that.

(And before you say it, yes I know my team is horrible this year)

That really had no impact on the game either way tonight.

But overall I say it's not wise to challenge that early unless it's clear you're going to get it. There are so many third down plays you have to stop anyway. To lose a challenge thinking that a first down not even at the 50 yard line in the first quarter is a make or break play is completely silly.

Despite all that's happened, I'd rate the Steelers as the third best team in the AFC with a shot to reach the Super Bowl.

Jets don't look real good.

Bills might make the playoffs but can't take them serious as a Super Bowl threat.

Houston has a chance but I think the Steelers would beat them if they met in the playoffs.

San Diego always chokes.

I'd take the Pats over them for sure. Probably the Saints too. But they're getting close. The only thing I question is their running game. Throwing the ball late in the season in Green Bay, Chicago, etc. isn't going to be easy. You need a ground game at some point.

We'll get a good read on it in a few weeks when the Steelers host the Patriots and Ravens in back-to-back weeks.

It'll either be confirmed that they're not credible this year or they may take a step forward.

Long season. And they have a high standard, a lot of good coaches and players working to get better.

The Jets are about all Id agree Pitt is above right now from who you listed.

Not sure why the Bills shouldnt be taken seriously, theyre a solid team and theyre not winning by fluke.

And you're right, its a long season...and the Steelers arent getting any younger, and Big Ben is more than likely gonna take a pounding week after week with that O-line.

Bills can be a 10-6 type team. But I think if they made the playoffs it would be one and done like the Chiefs last year. Not sure if they can make a deep run.

In the Steelers recent Super Bowl years they weren't considered the best team all year. If you go back to 2005 they were 7-5 and had to win their last four and then four more in the playoffs.

In 2008 they got off to a rough start and lost a game at Philly when Ben got sacked like 10 times.

Last year they were up and down and had some shaky performances and close escapes but won the game late at Baltimore and then were able to win a couple in the playoffs.

I'd be careful dismissing them this early. New England even has some defensive issues. Other than Baltimore, who lost to Tennessee, the door is still open for Pittsburgh to emerge from the AFC.

Non has a different outlook by each week. He is a victim of the "what just happened now" syndrome. He probably had the Bills as his #1 team after they beat they Pats.

Non is just Rock Sr. He is a bit more laid back, because he is older, but he is just as retarded as rock.

I thought people who knew Rock said he was in his early/mid 40s or something like that (maybe on the basement thread mocking him when he flipped out and left the site). Mentally, he might be a handicapped pre-teen, but physically, he's middle-aged.

I don't think they will, but anything can happen. They've done well with shit O-lines before, this year could be no different. Although IMO this is the worst O-line we've had. I still can't believe people are still calling the defense "old"....lol the pundits sure did beat that one into your brains after the week one loss to Baltimore.

I'm taking the easy route and saying NE vs GB in the Superbowl. I have a feeling that Green Bay can repeat. They are scary good.

A lot of people jump the gun and buy into too much early on.

It's taking some time for this year's Steelers to give some new players increased playing time to try and find the right mixture.

The right tackle Marcus Gilbert, a rookie, had a great game Sunday before going out with an injury. He's young and is getting better. Max Starks is not an All Pro but he's an upgrade from Jonathan Scott. Already the offensive line is improved at just those two spots, if Gilbert is ok.

It's tough for the Steelers to come to the realization that guys like Hampton and Smith are in decline. They've been awesome players for a long time. The younger players on the defensive line are going to play more and help the rotation. Chris Hoke is a sturdy veteran who holds his own when he has to play.

Not a great start but they're still set up for a playoff type year. I'd favor New England and Baltimore as the top two teams but the Steelers would be my next team that has a chance of winning in that divisional round and making the AFC Championship.

You really think they're right behind NE and Baltimore? No way man. They're not better than any team you just listed

Steelers aren't winning anything this year.

What are they then? Experienced, Veteran? Im assuming thats what youd prefer to call them because it puts a nice spin on the age thing and makes it sound favorable. Im not saying theyre terrible by any means, but this is not a typical steelers team of the past 5 or 6 years where theyve been legit threats to win the SB

Ehh they have a mix of young and old. They are solid, but I agree, definitely not the defensive units we are used to seeing....especially at defending the run.

Would you have said they were a legit threat to win it last year before the playoffs? I sure as hell didn't see it coming.

Maybe not better at this point but I think they'll evolve and pass up the other teams like San Diego and Buffalo by season's end. Houston has some talent but I just think the Steelers would win the next meeting in the playoffs.

I'd say 1) Baltimore 2) New England 3) Pittsburgh in terms of which team will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. When it's all said and done.

Terrell Owens, who is hoping to make an NFL comeback this season, was hospitalized Thursday, according to a report on TMZ.com. An unidentified person called 911 to report a medical emergency at a Los Angeles apartment where Owens had been staying. Police reportedly were sent to the complex as well. Owens was released and his representatives did not turns calls to TMZ.
