As if we needed more proof Merril Hoge is an idiot:
When debating Trent Dilfer's belief that the Colts should trade the 1st pick and hold on to Manning, Hoge said, "and remember, in order to trade the pick they'd need someone to dance with"
Uhm Merril, I think a lot of teams would trade up to #1 to try and get Andrew Luck.

But he's saying are the Colts going to be asking for too much? The asking price may be too high that no one will want to do the trade.

Ugh. Mark Cuban buying the tab in Bloomington tonight. In town for the Super Bowl in Indy, obviously. Only been able to grace his presence at the bars 2 of the 11 times he has been in town. My roomate? 9 of 11. What a douche.

Talks of expanding to LA and adding a second team. San Antonio, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City?

Not a huge fan of the Thursday night games. Maybe they will put the 'lesser' teams on thurs night?!?!?!?
Went to my first Thursday night game with the browns/steelers. Even tho it was close, and had hte best seats i ever had for an NFL game, and beating the most hated rival, it just wasnt as amped up as a Sat/sun/Mon night game, and I think it was the lowest attendance I have seen for a steelers game that I have been to..but anyways........
I am ok with adding two teams I guess.......but it will mess up the divisions and create an unbalanced schedule for a few teams.
All in all...the NFL is an absolute juggernaut in the sports world. they have just the right mix for the short attention spans of Americans. They strategically leak/release information now in just the right intervals to keep the NFL in the front of everyone's minds.

I think it might be ok. A few ways you could do it is eliminate divisions and go top 6 and only Have afc play afc and NFC play NFC. That's an even schedule team wise though not home and away. That's the first thing that comes to mind. If you sat down I'm sure you could come up with others.thavoice;1074956 wrote:

Commissioner Roger Goodell told ESPN's Mike and Mike that, after what he saw last Sunday, the NFL will consider eliminating the Pro Bowl.-Adam Schefter

Unlike the other major sports, football is just too different of a game from a physicality standpoint to expect the players to play hard when injury risk is so high in the sport.

Another from Schefter regarding Manning..."Peyton Manning is willing to create a contract that would contain no guaranteed money up front and would be incentive laden with bonuses."

Arizona should be all over Manning if he is a free agent.
That is an easily winnable division, and they could recreate kind of what they did with Warner as he was an aging vet looking for one last run.
I see no way Manning goes to the NFC East with the Redskins as that is a bruising division, and he would be facing Eli twice a year.

Interesting tidbit from Mort, Bill Belichick has never won a Super Bowl without Romeo Crennel, although the same could be said for Charlie Weis.

Indeed that is true. Romeo was on both of Parcells Super Bowl staffs.

Arizona would be interesting, as would Seattle since Barkley isn't coming out and T. Jackson isn't the answer. I'd hate to see Peyton retire like this. There are some options besides Washington - Jets if they have the balls to dump Sanchez (not likely), Houston if they think Schaub will be out for the beginning of next year (haven't been following this much), or the dark horse Kansas City if they can get out of Cassel's insane contract. All of these teams could have playoff hopes.IggyPride00;1075773 wrote:Arizona should be all over Manning if he is a free agent.
