The format change will help there to be more wrestling. No more byes to the the finals or two match performances by some of our best wrestlers. A three man bracket is a fact and a tragedy. Under the old format in a three man bracket the #1 seed gets bye'd into the finals...and if that person's seeding criteria is questionable look out! This format creates more fairness, reduces the emphasis on seeding and makes more wrestling. If you have a problem with more wrestling, you have a problem with yourself. 5 man bracket #1 seed could wrestle twice. Here they wrestle three times.

If you've read my comments over the years I'm a big advocate of more WCAL wrestling. This is a small change, but a good one. Wrestlers bump around every year to benefit the team. That's a good thing! It makes matchups that otherwise wouldn't happen. If it is a fact that Waynedale opposes this change then I'm disappointed in the same way I am disappointed that NW/Way dual isn't a yearly occurrence. I know and understand that WCAL foes wrestle each other too much in the month of February...anyway I'm just saying I know the talking points and prefer more local wrestling.

CAT classic. I got to see several great local wrestlers, however it was Cloverleaf, Wadsworth and Tuslaw that were the powers there. I saw coach wearing a Bill Cosby sweater and a trench coat, and many great Wayne county wrestlers including a few from Wooster and Rittman. Mark my words that the Indians will be legit once this talent filters through. Seems like good coaching and quality kids involved in that program.

Perhaps if the details weren't top secret I would have interest....but no one seems to know the true format or scoring. LOL Good Ol' Spencer hosting County...Here comes "FORMAT-GATE"........Gotta love it!

Yes there seem to be some very quality kids filtering in, not just for Rittman, but for ALL county schools. Seems like Wayne County will continue to be a powerhouse for wrestling in the coming years.

Tonight Saw some good wrestling Between Triway, Orrville, and Chippewa on the High School and Jr. high level. I believe at the High school level Triway destroyed the Chipps and beat Orrville. Triway has a very solid team this year all the way through, a lot of scrappers.

At the Jr. High level Triway lost to the Chipps in a barn-burner 48-42. Triway then beats Orrville, who beat the Chipps. SO they all went 1-1. I really love watching the Chippewa kids wrestle for the Jr. High. They are VERY talented watch out when they get to high school. Triway looked very solid, as well as Orrville. I'd say at the Jr. High level tonight that Chippewa had the best talent all the way through the lineup, but Triway had the best overall wrestler there tonight.

With all due respect....please start a JR High thread to discuss Jr High Results....it get kind of confusing trying to discern the differences betweeen your Jr High and high School results.

Dont get me wrong...Bears have some up and comers too at that level. Call me an ass, I dont care, Im just trying to keep things in prospective....this is essentially a HS thread.

When I read a post that talks about HS and Jr high, then gives details about Jr High....

I'll just shut up now....

Beast is about to retire from the message forums.....they really have lost their luster.

i'm not trying to call you an !@#, just messing with you. I understand what you're saying Beast, just trying to put some life back into this thread, since not too many results are coming in that's all.

No hard feelings :)

What day is the wrestling records spotlight published? Red Scum won't tell me.
Wednesdays, and may the best man get there first.

I just want to compliment Coach Stanley. I have been coaching and running camps for 30 years. I have never seen a head coach as involved at every level from biddies, Jr. High to High School as coach Stanley. Throw in running a Mini farm, this guy is relentlessly working. Throw in also his teams consistent performance over 19 years and his personal life leadership as a Dad , Husband, teacher and coach this Man will hopefully be up for Div.3 coach of the year and we all can step it up and bring home a state title in the next 2 years. Last year My good friend Matt Yinger from Nelsonville York won that award, it sure would be nice to see Louie Stanley win it this year, he is the real deal thru thick and thin.

We (jr high) kicked @#$ heads up against them and only lost on the forfeits. That seems to be our biggest problem this year: getting buried in forfeits and kicking @#$ straight up.

As a Waynedale Golden Bear fan....I removed my post and dont really care whats going on at Tuslaw. If the rumors are true...I hope the appropriate action is taken and these young men get help. I also hope the situation is handled correctly!

i will not comment again on the topic as we need to keep our kids focused on WAYNDALE and our Journey. Take care of our own...keep our own porch clean and let others worry about the rif raff.

GO BEARS!!!!

Looks like Seth Hildenbrand and Finley from Hillsdale moved down to 52 and 60 respectively.
