Order of operations dictates that if there are no parentheses, multiplication and division are done BEFORE any addition or subtraction. As such, what you posted wouldn't change anything. The multiplication of the last 1 to the 0 would be the first thing done.

When exponents were first introduced, in the 16th and 17th centuries, exponents took precedence over both addition and multiplication, and could be placed only as a superscript to the right of their base.

There are two possible answers to this problem... The real answer is that there is not enough information to make and educated response. Is this a "simple math problem" which would be right to left adding and subtracting the ones until you multiple the zero and get ZERO?

Or is this posted to be an algebraic equation which would result in the use of "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally?" In that case, the answer would be 14

There are two answers and not enough info provided to find which is the right answer.
