The incident ended his political career. Initially he announced that hes was going to resign but later changed his mind and decided to finish the last year on his term and not seek re-election.

Yes, effectively resigning, but did he get his pension? I would rather see ALL who resign/not run be denied their pension benefits because of their indiscretions. Other than losing face, there's no tangible consequence for those who behave in this manner. Perhaps if they were facing the loss of benefits they might be able to see what happens when you behave poorly. Unfortunately, we all know that Congress is the ultimate "good ol' boys club", where you get the golden parachute no matter what you do while in office.

Obama says if he were Wiener he would resign. The jig is up. Time to do the honorable thing and fall on your wiener.

While he's under the bus, he can show his photos to Obama's grandmother and the good Reverend. :)

Don't forget a framed copy of his true birth certificate and pics of his good buddies Ayers, Rezko, Ordinga, Farrakahn, Davis, etc.

I would prefer "Weiner withdraws prematurely", or "Weiner can't stand up".

The big question is...

Who's next? You know it's gonna happen.

Glad he resigned. It was the right thing to do. Now that we set a standard, let all perverts who hold public office be held to the same standards.

I would agree.

Let's also include those folks currently under the weight of congressional ethics investigations, like Rangle and Waters.

Psst... Writer in case you have not noticed Rangle and Waters are black. Forcing either one of them from office would be racist. It would set us back 160yrs.

Then I guess it's time to go back, if that's the case. One positive: the debt won't be nearly so large. :)

Peter King (also known as the dumbest football expert - although he went to Ohio U) defends Weiner.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/peter_king/06/19/mmqb/4.html

"i. I see saboteurs opened up fake Twitter accounts to try to lure Anthony Weiner into relationships. Another great day for America."

How about what Anthony Weiner actually did, Petey boy? Stick to covering the NFL, poorly with Dr. Z.

Both are incredibly stupid. Though Weiner "taking the bait" is obviously more stupid and especially unbecoming considering his position.

State Representative Robert Mecklenborg gets picked up for DUI with a stripper in his car and LJ refuses to approve my post. LJ you are hypocrite, and a phoney. So I linked it to a site (most) of you people don't like. Once again right on the money with their reporting. Here is another link you might approve of little john.
