I really hope Braxton Miller sees all of this and sees everything not to do as Ohio States star quarterback. He doesn't seem to have near the baggage though, but hopefully he stays untarnished.

Got a link? I'd be elated to hear this.

haha for a program that went 4-26 the previous three years, then 6-4 and 8-3 it was actually a pretty big accomplishment considering what we had to work with.

He's off to a good start.

He defends him as too much of a "kid"

Saying "everyone kills" is being a kid
borrowing a car is being a kid
Signing an autograph for a tat once is being a kid.

The continued actions show that he is just plain stupid or just plain doesn't care. Tressel never roped him in. He showed times that he was trying to be part of the "community" with his charity work with cancer patients and special needs kids, but his stupidity just overran all those attempts

Frankly, I'm surprised Bentley didn't play the race card. That's even more "typical Bentley."

tressel got himself canned , not herron or pryor or posey. tressel ran a dirty program and got caught. he had choices and he chose to lie and cover up.

That may be the case, but I'm still convinced this entire situation goes much higher up than Tressel.

In a related development, the car salesman at the center of what’s become a widening probe into the purchases of at least 50 vehicles by football players and family members released a sworn affidavit this afternoon, proclaiming that nothing untoward transpired during his dealings with members of the football program.

“The deals that I did for Ohio State student-athletes were no different than any of the other 10,000-plus deals that I’ve done for all my other customers,” Aaron Kniffin, a former employee of two Columbus-area dealerships, said in the statement.

“OSU student-athletes weren’t given any enticements to buy the car at my dealership,” Kniffin said. “At no time did memorabilia come into play when it came time to negotiate a deal or buy a car. I was never given any memorabilia from a student-athlete in exchange for a car deal.”
People need to let this play out. The Nissan 350z he was seen driving is a 2007. Kelly Blue book list them starting at 16,500. Hardly out of line for a college kid.

If so, this is the best cover up since JFK.

I tend to think that somebody would have been bound to come out if there were more people involved. Tress also wouldn't have accepted the fine and the forced resignation if this went above him. Gene Smith wouldnt have forced the resignation to begin with. When somebody has "the goods" on you, you don't strong arm them and make them look foolish in the media. Mainly because Tress could easily roll over on him

Even if this situation is legit, he's guilty as charged for being clueless about perception, and it's going to cost him the half season he already didn't throw away.

The resignation was the Board's decision, not Smith's.

IMO, it will come out that someone else, who is in a higher position than Tressel, knew about this. Just the fact that this business with the cars was going on, as well as the tattoo parlor involvement going back several years, without someone blowing the whistle long ago reinforces my opinion. This is bigger than just the head coach.

You are entitled to that opinion, but I have a hard time believing that Tress would allow himself to get murdered like this by the media. You are ignoring that he is forever tarnished by this. No way he walks away quietly Imo
