This kind of stuff is likely very widespread -- which makes how the NCAA handles this pretty crucial.

If OSU gets hammered after how it has tended to handle all NCAA infractions over the years (being called a model program by the president of the NCAA not that long ago) -- then schools who tend to play by the rules on reporting may decide to change their strategies.

If you're going to get hammered anyway for being as proactive as possible, then what's the point in doing so?

What do you think the punishment should be?

What I don't understand in your point of view is, whose violations do you consider "the school's" and who do you consider a representative of the school when it comes to that self-reporting. In this case, the HEAD COACH lied. I sense that you are saying that since the AD/President reported it when they found out about it that the school should be off the hook? In most of the other major cases, it was a third party that was involved, not someone actually affiliated with the school. So where do you draw the line?

I see Knight is jumping from thread to thread with his hatred of OSU, nothing new from someone with no life.

I just really hope that Fickell kicks those guys off the team and be done with this. It was Tressels doing to keep them on the team, Fickell doesnt need to honor that.
