It did make me laugh to see Robert Smith spinning it by saying Tressel didn't uphold his own high ethical standards. Made me laugh even more he claimed the University didn't know about the allegations.

They had little to do with this situation. Tressel brought this on himself by LYING.

That's not true. The situation they put themselves in is the reason Tressel lied. Not blaming the players, Tressel lied and honestly he deserves to no longer have a job. But to say the players had little to do with the situation is just not true.

God, this is such a circle I'm getting dizzy.

These are 2 separate incidents. Yes, if the tattoo thing didn't happen, Tressel wouldn't have had to of lied about anything. However, lying is all on him and had nothing to do with the players.

I'm wondering if another story is about to break. If Tressel lied about the tattoo 5, he probably did some other shady things.

Sad ending to what would have been a Hall of Fame coach. But he did the right thing by stepping down.

BTW, those who blame Pryor and company...don't forget WHO recruited them to OSU. Ultimately, it was Tressel who brought himself down by choosing to turn a blind eye.

Wondering about that too. Would've thought if he was going to be out over the tat 5/lying incident, it would've happened before now. With all the talk about the upcoming SI report, wonder if there's something about to break that isn't going to be defensible.

Sad but inevitable. Time for the program to move on. Fickell gets the interim job and then we'll see what happens in 2012.
