But here's where judging the merits of each side of this debate becomes sketchy. Is the belief they are innocent rational and justifiable? If so, then I'd agree with Stewart. If not, then I think I go with O'Reilly in that controversial/fringe views shouldn't be validated with a visit to the White House.
Maybe Stewart was baiting him, but also I believe Hurricane was later vindicated.
Otherwise, I agree with others that I don't see the need for a "poetry night", much as I don't see the need for White House all-star basketball games and the like. I respect that the President deserves some R&R, I'd just rather not see everything turned into a PR event (and pretty much all Presidents do this, although Obama seems to have a need to rub elbows with celebs much more than Bush or Clinton).
