We had a diaper party for my buddy. Everyone brought a thing of diapers and we had a ton of beer and grilled food. We sat around smoked cigars, drank and played poker. It was actually a great time and was < $100 for all the food and beer and everyone who brought diapers paid like $15 for those.

I'm the one currently with more disposable income since we've sold my house and moved to her's in North Canton due to being a better location for both of us. So I'll inherently tend to pick up the tabs for the next 11 months. It doesn't bother me too greatly. The last minute surprises do.

That's what I'm trying to explain to her. Ok I get you were roommates in college for 4 years but you don't see each other anymore and you don't speak unless it's about the wedding now and more than likely you'll never see her again after this wedding. You have much closer friends now.

I think it's hillarious that the MOH (your fiance) is giving the ole shaft to the bride. Seriously, you're my hero for putting your foot down and possibly fucking up this girl's day.

I too think it's odd though that she's the MOH, and you've never met the bride. You'd think if they were such great friends, you'd of crossed paths at some point.

She lives in Atlanta and makes no attempts to come home anymore. My fiancee has been there twice but once was for the bridal shower so i didn't go, and once i was in Romania for work. But she's even admitted this girl 99% most likely wouldnt have came to our wedding next year even if we spent all this money on her.

And I'm not fucking anything up. I told her she can still use the plane tickets and I'll keep the car rental. Her friend can choose to let her stay with her, or she can pick up the new hotel bill on her own. Either way she's going without me now.

Kudos to Zwick for putting the hammer down. I couldn't imagine spending $1500 for all of that. If the Bride really wanted her there, she should make some sacrifices.

Because they are about to be married next year and he sold his home and currently lives in her home. Because he sold his home he is footing most of the extra curricular bills for the next year or so. If you take the time to read the thread he said this earlier.

Seriously, good move. No way I would drop that amount of cash in this situation. My wife and I went on a nice week long cruise for 2 for under $1500 everything included....$1500 for an effing wedding is a no chance unless it's immediate family.

Exactly. The only way I'd ever shell out that kind of coin for a wedding is if it was my niece or one of my nephews. I am pretty close with them, and as I don't have any kids of my own yet I would definatly spend whatever $ I had to to be there. But other than that, no way. If I'm in your wedding and it's going to cost me more than like $200 bucks (except for the tux of course) to get there/stay...sorry, I can't make it. I have 21 first cousins and I there's no way in hell I could have afforded to attend all of their weddings if I have to spend more than that.
