Bama could have easily fumbled the ball on a hand off exchange. That scenario can happen either way. No need for them to score in that situation.

I'm not saying that, man. I'm not questioning the kid's toughness nor his honesty. In fact, I think he may be honest to a fault in that case. What he said could scare some teams away or at the very least have them questioning his health come combine/draft time.

Dude...apparently you can't add either. You kneel on the ball 3 times when the ball was first and goal at the 5 with 1 minute left. Texas had only one TO. He ran up the score....plain and simple. Saban is a dick for doing so.

I can't stand poor sportsmanship.

For as much as you all hate on Tressel for overly conservative calls in situations that make no fucking sense, it's amazing how you all pull a 180 when it's someone else's team.

Either way, it's not worth arguing any more. I can't fix stupid.

The team doctors, Mack Brown, and his Dad wouldn't allow him to go back into the game.

Besides, I don't think he would have been too helpful if he couldn't feel his throwing arm.

No you are just not being logical. Three knees=game over. Running the ball greatly increases the chance of a turnover. I remember Anthony Thomas fumbling it against Northwestern and cost them a game. Ron Dayne did the same thing. The Giants are famous for fumbling the ball when they could have just taken a knee.

Not sure what Saban was thinking...he's obviously wired differently than those of us who can smile.......but 20 years down the raod....or even 10 people look back and see the 37-21 victory......Colt McCoy wouldn't have made that much of a difference.

It was stupid, uncalled for and nothing you want young players or future coaches to see.

The fans boo'd. Mack Brown inside was probably saying "you SOB" and then Texas had the urge to try and score again.

When it was 31-21 and 47 seconds left, both coaches should've been thinking it's been a good, well-respected game and it ends here. Mack Brown was thinking that way. Saban should have been, too.

It was a bit different.

I remember at least 10 games where he was limping around. He single handedly won the Car Care bowl for WVU despite being injured most of the game. I think it was rare for him to play without an injury.

4th-and-4, 0:32 left from the Missouri 27, Mack Brown goes for it

You could take a look at how many times Mack Brown kneeled the ball in the 4th quarter this season. Or how many passes he called in the 4th quarter of blowouts. I'm pretty sure he knows it is a 60-minute game and wasn't pissed off about playing the whole thing out.

Is it poor sportsmanship to do what the opponent would rather you do? I'm sure that the Texas team would have rather had them try to run it for a TD, rather than be helpless with them taking a couple knees. That way they would have a chance to knock the ball loose and return it, rather than be helpless with taking knees. I would call it more of a poor strategical decision by Saban than poor sportsmanship!
