These all have no correlation to sports knowledge, thanks.lhslep134;739120 wrote:Actually I am. HS valedictorian high ACT high SAT high LSAT Ohio State honors program all beg to differ.

You are kidding yourself if you guys think all athletes don't give a shit about their fans. Tim Couch wouldn't have cried when Browns fans booed him if he didn't care.
-First of all, gtfo with this facts and knowledge shit. We are providing a solid argument with examples, but since you choose not to accept them, they don't count as legitimate arguments? As I have said before, get of your fucking high horse.lhslep134;739217 wrote:Great points about entertainment enigmaax and Con_alma but give it up. Facts and logic have no use on this thread.
I completely understand what like_that, COA, and raw dawg are saying in talking local pride to your team. However, the three of them have the extreme and illogical view that everyone from that area must root for them and to do otherwise is blasphemy, which is where I disagree.
-Second of all, I see where raw and COA are coming from, but I never said you HAVE to live in that city, or root for the closest city. I do think you should have a connection to the team. Going on vacation to LA is not a connection to the LA Lakers sorry. The fact that people live in Ohio all their lives and never been to pittsburgh, or have only visited pittsburgh periodically, and then call themselves pitt fans is a complete joke. If you want to bandwagon or be a fair weather fan go ahead, there is no law against it, but I am willing to bet your not going to be respected by most people who actually are loyal to their teams.
-Lastly, just look at when teams win a championship. Who hosts the parade? The city. Who do the players and owner address during that parade. They address the city and fans from that city, not the bandwagon Lakers fan living in Ohio.
