If giving up a goal on a nice play to St Louis and on a mad scramble around the net is bad defense then you need to brush up on your knowledge of the game. Defensively, Pittsburgh is one of the best in the league, if not the best in these playoffs thus far.
BTW, who's better.........Washington? Surely not Philly or Boston? The entire tournament is WIDE OPEN and the Pens can go a long way on Fleury's back and a strong defense. If Crosby come back, all bets are off!
Periods in the 2nd and really in the 3rd were all Tampa. And that was a hurt Tampa team. Granted, the Pens did have a solid defensive effort most of the game. But, they do have spots when they are really lax.
In terms of the East, the Habs are playing pretty solid hockey and like last year could continue their hot streak. The Sabers have an even better defense than the Pens in my view and Miller is in Olympic form. He is the hottest goalie in the playoffs right now. Then there is the Caps, while yes they are Caps, it is a different team and they actually play defense.
I also doubt Philly or Boston advance, I like Buf. and Mon really.
Yeah, the East is open and so is the west.
I also think there are 6 teams better in the West than the Pens, but that is neither here nor there.
