The Pens will have home ice. These teams split the regular season series winning two games each at home. Should be an interesting series but in the end, Pittsburgh should have too much for Tampa. Pens in six games.

Tampa has cooled since the start of the year, but from what I saw last night, they are still pretty good. It goes 7 in my view, with Tampa pulling it out.

The Pens have two things going for them which are crucial in the Stanley Cup playoffs, their defense has been incredible this year, one of the best in the league and their penalty killing is tops in the league, and then there's Marc Andre Fleury who has been on fire since his shaky start to the season. A stingy defense and top notch goaltending can carry you a long long way, and of course, if Crosby returns it gives the Pens yet another added dimension.

Game one will be either Wednesday or Thursday at the Consol Energy Center, I'll post the schedule when it comes out. I imagine they will have a white out as they normally do for home playoff games and yes, Mario's TV will be set up outside the arena (I believe at the Igloo parking lot) for people to watch outside.

I see this series going 7 games with either team having a chance to win it. For the Pens, the D needs to play lights out along with MAF.

Stamkos has been very cold as of late. Their defense and Roloson can be shaky at times.


If the Pens want to go past the first round Staal has to be the guy they can lean on at the forward position.
