haha, nice. This upcoming stretch will make or break the Pirates though. Either way, pretty cool to see them sitting in first this late into the season...

Next week is huge with Cincinnati and St. Louis coming to town, then going on the road for tough ones at Atlanta (4 games) and Philly, but I thought the same thing during that last stretch of interleague play. After that disastrous series in Cleveland, they took 2 out of 3 against, Boston, Baltimore and Toronto. Just keep winning series and the rest will take care of itself. (How crazy would a Pirates/Indians World Series be around here...never happen but fun to think about)

This pretty much ends the concept of global warming, Hell can't freeze over if the Earth is getting warmer. I'm hoping the Pirates finish with a winning record and put 18 years of losing behind them. A spot in the post season is almost too much to ask for. Hopefully they can get out of the Philly and Atlanta series with a winning record.

What moves will the Pirates make?

I would like to see them make a run at Mike Adams.

It would not come cheaply but might be worth the gamble to put Adams and Hanrahan together for the 8th and 9th.
