I could conjure up more Brooks and Dunn stuff that is more "pop" or "rock" than what ZBB has released so far.
Why would you call them "pop" and say they "aren't country?"
LJ;724453 wrote:Beucase they are. If anything they are a pop version of folk and bluegrass moreso than country.
rydawg5;724456 wrote:That doesn't even make sense.

I find a hard time believing this...especially if ZBB continues on the direction they are heading. But currently, Rascal Flatts is definitely more "successful," but they've had more years (looking at just right now).GoPens;724442 wrote:Yes I had to say that. I'm not saying whether ZBB is better than Flatts or not...that's personal preference, but as far as looking back at a "career" 50 years from now, I say Flatts is more successful.
I disagree.LJ;724444 wrote:Because they are. They have a very poppy sound. Their underground shit is a TON better than their mainstream stuff. Jam sessions and songs that were popular back before Foundation. Even then though they were more of a mix of folk bluegrass and country rather than just country.

I disagree.
I am not a fan of a lot of the current music. I am a classic country fan, Johnny Cash has always been my favorite. George Strait is as country as they come. And Alabama is the greatest country band ever (something which I believe every country fan could agree on). But ZBB is definitely not "pop."

I couldn't agree more with these statements.rydawg5;724487 wrote:He's amazingly consistent and has been for about 30 years!
Garth Brooks was also amazing but is part of the movement to a poppy country music.
Alan Jackson is up there, along with Conway Twitty (Most #1 hits)

Alabama and Brooks and Dunn vocals aren't that good?

BCBulldog;724503 wrote:While you can't argue their authenticity, success or popularity, I do think they are fairly weak vocally when you look at their overall success. Don't get me wrong, they aren't Toby Keith bad, but they aren't George Strait or Alan Jackson either.
