If we want to take the R's for what they were going to do first thing when they got into office-reduce the debt from the FY 2011 budget, it has been a failure.
They have cut little by little every time, but overall the R's House block cannot agree on any measures that will totally fund the government until Sept. 30, 2011.
I think we are on our 4th CR since December for the budget. This is not leadership at all and while there may be some good ideas on budget reductions, it has not been filtered through to the leadership and agreed to by the party.

In addition, we still have not seen the two biggest battles quite yet: Debt ceiling and FY 2012 budget. To be fair though, those were already slated for April anyways.
But, overall, the House R's are very fractured, very green and trying to figure out how to pass a budget in the 1st 3 months. A tall task, but from the election results, it sounded like the newbies were up for it. Fail so far.

Let's look at it the other way ---- No cap-n-tax; no card check; more oversight on the marxist EPA; potential derailment of obamaKare; and constant pressure to exploit our own, massive energy resources. The only "failure" of the Tea Party was in hitching up their wagons to the Republican Party. The failure I speak of is with Boehner and his promises. He is being exposed as nothing more than a Beltway politician whose only agenda is power. If his Contract With America shows no substantial progress in the first 100 days then I'd say it is a failure.

For those paying attention, the $61,000,000,000 in proposed cuts were for a budget that only had 7 months left in the fiscal year. That would translate to $105,000,000,000 IF it was over a full year. The one to focus on is in September, when spending for the next fiscal year starts 10-1-11, to which ptown referenced. At least THIS HOUSE will propose a budget, which is a 100% improvement over the last version.

Or perhaps they, unlike some, realize the jobs are in the private sector as they always are, and are not going through the charade that the Congress is capable of creating jobs.

They are too busy wasting their valuable time passing temporary debt ceiling limit measures for paltry amounts of time. Why is this? Why can't they make a more permanent solution? Congress has not place in trying to "create" jobs in the literal sense, because the only jobs they can create are in government, and that only adds to the fiasco we've got building.

Their ONLY focus right now should be cutting government and getting the debt reduced both in the long and short term -- and blocking ANYTHING proposed that expands spending.

I'm not at all surprised that the Left is attempting to pin jobs creation on the Republican-controlled House when the real reason Americans kicked Pelosi & Co. out of power was to get the Feds out of spend mode.

But as usual the Dems and their fuck buddies in the media are pointing fingers for the jobs creation issue. Government is NOT the origin of true jobs creation. The best thing the Feds can do is set-up the environment necessary for the private sector to do that through changes in the corporate tax structure, easing up on over-regulation, keeping taxes in general in check, and STOPPING THE SPENDING of our children's money.

I'd agree that government does not create jobs, just fosters an environment where jobs can grow.

But, the one thing they need to do is reduce the debt and they have failed. Passing CR after CR makes no fiscal sense some programs keep going.
It also lowers productivity as fed workers cannot plan out past the end of the CR. It also does not fund programs that are needed on specific timelines, raising costs over time.
If the R's can't get a basic agreement out of the House over to the Senate that will fund the government till 9/30/2011, then they have massively failed.

Oh, and this game on the budget this year just makes next years budget (10/1/2011) that much shorter to pass it.
So far, the R's equal the D's to me, all talk and little substance.

So if the R's send a bill that massively cuts the government to the Senate, and it dies there, or gets vetoed by Obama, the R's are to blame?
