Hickson is a fucking headcase. I still don't see why everyone thought he wasn't "expendable" at the trade deadline last year or the year before. He's like friggin Drew "Casper the Friendly Ghost" Gooden...."Boo! Now you see him, now you don't." Dude is a monster one game then he disappears and butts heads with the head coach (although I don't think Gooden did the latter).

I'm not as enamored with Hickson as others are.

Jazz big men-Millsap, Jeffrerson, Favors, and Okur. Harris is the only PG under contract for next year and Kirilenko is a FA.

Something else to note is that the Clippers have the T-wolves first round pick for next year(Sam Cassell trade) so they may skip what they need now and just go for the best player. Unless they trade to get into the 1st round next year, they will be missing out on a loaded draft(Barnes, Jones, Sullinger, the entire freshman class).

NBADraft.net was down last night but their mock has Irving, Kanter and Chandler Parsons as the three newest Cavs. Parsons had a sub par NCAA tourny IMO but I think he'll be a solid contributor in the pro's and that's about all you can ask out of 2nd round picks.

I would at least explore trading the #4 pick just to see what is out there, possibly a legit NBA player like Iggy.

But I'd want to go Irving and Kanter, assuming both are available.

BR, JJ is still very young and has shown that he has the talent and athletic ability to be a double double guy every night. .

We still have Cleveland getting another solid player in the draft with the 2nd rounder, this time I don't think it will be some foreigner since Ferry is gone.

If somehow Marshon Brooks (currently 28th in mock draft) or Jujuan Johnson (29th) fell to us at 32 I would be ECSTATIC. Even someone like Travis Leslie would be a good project pick.

We just need to find someone with a pure scoring ability.

Looking at things, I am going to bet that Cleveland doesn't pick at #4.

Outside of massive athleticism, I am not sure how Williams would fit into what Cleveland would be building with Kyrie/JJ etc.

The Cavs will make a trade somewhere, but welcome to Cleveland Mr. Irving.

Williams is already better than Hickson. Cavs fans need to get over Hickson because he's an average player at his position.

I can't see the Cavs trading because I don't see teams desperately wanting to get the #4 pick so I don't know what you get in return. Plus why do they need a veteran? They are still years away.

We don't agree often but THIS I will agree with. Don't see what all of the hoopla is over this guy. He's inconsistent and he's pretty much openly defied the head coach when he (Byron Scott) asked him (Hickson) to "play both ends of the court."

I'm on the other end who thinks Hickson will develop into a solid NBA player.

I wish Harrison Barnes would have came out in this draft, dude can score.

I think Hickson is a good role player, but some Cavs fans talk about him like he's a franchise player. He just isn't that.

Solid to me means average. He will never be a top 10 player at his position and I honestly think Derrick Williams is already a better player.

I agree that he is average, but I wouldn't go as far as saying Williams is a better player when going into the NCAA tourney, he wasnt considered a high pick. He shined in the spotlight which boosted him, but he hasnt actually played a game in the NBA yet.

Thing about Hickson is, they either need to let him go or give him a legitimate chance. Either go with him or you don't, he's had some of the most sporadic minutes I've ever seen. But I'm not sure Williams is better, not right now anyways. He might have looked good playing against the PLUMLEE'S, but that isn't much of a barometer.

He earned those sporadic mins though by not playing defense and not rebounding at times. He acts like LeBron sometimes by leaking out on the fastbreak....a post guy can't be doing that.

Hickson didn't get a chance last year? Plus chances are earned.

Williams was always considered a high pick. He just looks so much more natural on a court in comparison to Hickson.

I disagree. JJ really improved his game last season after Byron benched him. He racked up some big rebound totals and had like 6 games of 20+ points and 15+ rebounds during the second half of the season... He turned into a double - double machine and he's WAAAAAAAAY more talented than Drew Gooden was.

Show me where ANY Cavs fan said he'll turn into a franchise player? We've all said he has the potential to be really good, which he was last season. Averaged 14/9 in 28 minutes per game..

He can easily average 16/10 this year if he continues to improve. People forget that last season would have only been his SR year in college.

I was using the Gooden reference in comparing how they both disappeared in games.

I know, but he got very consistent in the second half. He even took it to Amar'e a couple of times.

Hickson is really just a nice role player. He's a guy who will get you 14 and 9 with occasional 20 point games but will never be a consistent 20 point scorer. I really wish barnes would have came out. He would have been my number 1 pick and then with the 4th grabbed knight.

Yeah, I think Barnes would have been the only guy I would have seriously considered taking #1 over Irving.

The age excuse doesn't carry any weight. What about Griffin and Rose and others who perform right away. Everyone leaves early now.

Hickson came up because someone said the Cavs should pass on Williams because he doesn't fit with Hickson. My point is that you do not make any decisions with Hickson in mind. Like I said, I think he has value. But his value would be in a coming off the bench and playing 20 minutes a night. Not as one of your top 2-3 players.

Derrick Williams says he should be #1 pick because of his bigger star quality??? Irving didn't even play most of the season and was talked about more than Williams lol.

JJ will be fine. He averaged 14 ppg and 9 rpg in 28 mpg last season. Remember, he is still only 22 years old and he wasn't a highly touted player coming out of the draft.

I too wish Barnes would have come out. But if the Cavs can address PG and C in this draft, next years looks to be the year of the "wing" player. While I don't expect the Cavs to have a top 3 pick, it does look like the very early projections show 10 of the top 14 picks as guys who play out on the wing, 7 of them are SF. There will be value at these positions next year without having to have a top pick. I'd love to get Barnes. But having another year to see what Perry & Terrance Jones develop into as well as the next crop of top freshman will help.

That's why I really wish we'd address the big men this year after picking Kyrie #1.
