Or don't go to church at all. Find communion in other areas.

My bad misread what you meant.

My wife was raised Catholic and I was raise Protestant, we were married in a Catholic church. We had to attend classes so we could be married in "The Church". Our children were baptized in "The Church". About 9 years ago when a lot of the pervert priests were being outed and "the Church" was defending them I said forget this and we've been going to a Methodist church. God doesn't care where you go to church and probably doesn't care if you go to church at all. Be a good person, don't be a dick and you should be okay if you are worried about an afterlife. If you don't believe in God then it doesn't matter so don't slam people that do.

That works for me! It's kinda like how i know it says it's okay for people of the same sex to marry! I don't know where it is but, then again, "I dont have the thing memorized, but I know it says it in there. Im sure somebody will know."

Isn't it funny how I can say the same thing about your claim! The funny thing is, I know that neither of our claims are in the bible, but you're the only one that believes his actually is! You don't read your bible much do you?

Hebrews 10:25 is the one that seems to be the most direct when advising against never gathering for the purpose of building and encouraging other Christians.

Context is always important, though, so it's best to read a verse within the context of the whole.

Oh, here's a fun one :D: "Give strong drink to the one who is perishing, and wine to those in bitter distress; let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more." (Proverbs 31:6-7)

Translated properly, this is pretty much saying that we shouldn't try to appeal to the poor (in my opinion, a clearer translation than "perishing") and those in despair to stop getting drunk, as their drunkenness is, many times, still better than the sober recognition of the reality of their lives.

Pick6, it's always wise to either know the reference of passages that back up your point, or to be willing to look them up and get back to the person. Sometimes, we even learn a little more about the Bible ourselves.

I ran across something the other day that I'd never noticed before, for example, and I've read the Bible through about six times now. I was reading Job, and I noticed that the term "by the skin of your teeth" was actually coined there.

All that to say, if you're posting on here, and you come across a need for references, it's worth at least Googling for them.

Do you know what the funny thing is (well before you so eloquently ruined my plan :) ) is that 98.8% of people would have recognized verses if I extended it out to (what maybe) 14?

Sorry, I went to bed. I mean if I would have included verses 9 - 14 (The Lord's Prayer) they would have recognized the the verse, when they wouldn't have otherwise.
