Florida's playing the best ball right now, but I'm taking Tennessee

Tennessee has the toughest draw of anyone IMO.

Already lost vs Arkansas. Then would have Florida. Then Vanderbilt. Then the finals. I'd be shocked if they won this thing.

My picks, for now, are as follows:

Georgia over Auburn
Mississippi over South Carolina
Tennessee over Arkansas
Vanderbilt over Louisiana State

Georgia over Alabama
Kentucky over Mississippi
Florida over Tennessee
Vanderbilt over Mississippi State

Kentucky over Georgia
Vanderbilt over Florida

Kentucky vs Vanderbilt

Not sure who I'd take in the final, but if it was that scenario, I don't have a good feeling about it.

Georgia just blew it big time against Alabama, as the Crimson Tide is able to come back from being down double digits late to get the game to overtime. Mark Fox called a timeout with 0.8 seconds left with Georgia throwing up a 3 with what they thought was a last second shot. It went in, but the timeout had already been called. Not looking good for UGA.

Mark Fox calling a timeout with 0.8 seconds left to play and his point guard in transition for a nice looking 20-footer with a chance is like, well, stupid. Fox might as well have just sprinted onto the floor and blocked his player's shot.

Goodbye, Georgia.

Georgia is 3-9 vs. the top 50, 5-11 vs. the top 100 with no bad losses and an ok SOS. They are 2-7 road/neutral vs. the top 100.
Penn State is 3-7 vs. the top 50, 8-12 vs. the top 100 with one bad loss and a top ten SOS. They are 2-8 road/neutral vs. top 100.

That tells you what Georgia's tourney chances look like after this one.

Georgia should absolutely be in the tournament IMO. As you really compare them to some of these other teams in discussion, they deserve to be in.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be in. I'm saying they should have the same chance to get in that Penn State does.

But someone has to get in. The spots will be filled.

How is Boston College a lock yet Georgia appears out? Lunardi says so.

He has USC in, despite 3 losses to teams with RPI's lower than 200 and 5 to teams outside of the top 100.

USC's RPI is 67 and SOS 44, yet they are in? Just doesn't make sense.

I don't get it either. USC has some nice wins, but they have more losses to the 100+ RPI teams than they do wins against top 50 teams. Boston College is 1-6 vs. the top 50. They are getting their asses beat by Clemson though, and I'm pretty sure they are out with a loss.

In other news, I think if Kentucky was 6-25 and had a game at Machu Picchu they would still bring 10,000 fans. One of the best, if not the best travel groups in sports.

Agreed. However, it's so easy to equate a loss with being out. However, as all of these bubble teams fall (Georgia, Boston College, etc...), some of them have to move up. Then you start asking yourself, when do you factor in that in year's past, the committee has shown that conference tournament results mean very little in-terms of who gets in (at least a game here or game there).

A lot to shake out today. One thing is for sure, these teams need to root for Utah State, Temple and other locks to win tournaments. Oregon, Dayton, New Mexico, Penn State, USC...these teams need to lose ASAP.

Tobias Harris is owning for UT. Down 12, they lead by 5 at half over Florida.

This has to be the most chalk I've ever seen in the SEC Tournament, always seems like they have at least 2 team in the semi's that weren't expected to be there.

The have nots really suck this year.

Auburn is horrible, although they improved slowly and didn't finish last (for some time I thought it was them or Wake for worst BCS team). LSU is horrible. Arkansas has a lame duck coach and faded fast. South Carolina greatly overachieved early but faded horribly late.

Ole Miss isn't bad, but the bottom was definitely really crappy this season. Lots of coaching turnover too. Talk of Trent Johnson's job being in jeopardy (I disagree). John Pelphrey is going to get axed (justifiably I think, despite him being a Cat). Andy Kennedy and Darrin Horn as well with rumors swirling (disagree with both of these guys being suspect too, especially Kennedy).

Calipari with the starts in up 20 at the end. Both Liggins and Lamb turn their ankles in the final 2 minutes. Ouch. Otherwise, UK looked like a possible Final Four team today. Great performance, they really smoked a staunch defensive Alabama squad.

Alabama is awful, this doesn't make them look Final 4 material at all.

Alabama is in the same boat as Penn State to me. They were just so bad out of conference, I'm not sure a few good conference wins are enough to make up for it.

Come on Azu...Final Four? Not with their woeful road record as well as record in close games. And Bama? Sorry, they are not that good.

Alabama dumbs the game down and play great defense. They got shredded. Had it been another tempo, UK could have gone for 90.

That was my point. They could lose in RD1 for all I know, but today they looked really good.
