The follow up dunk was not over the back. The two duke dudes were all the way under the hoop just standing there. Nolan smith on the other hand was fouled on that drive but didn't get a call.

Haha I like the kid on vt's bench who still has his practice jersey on, pounding his chest like he just made a big play. Haha

I'm sure Dustin's recreational basketball career for the Hancock County Gyroballers is going fantastic about now.)
Actually, Pfeifer earned and may still earn a decent living playing overseas. Not D1 POY material, but earning a living playing a game isn't bad.

Dustin Pfeifer (5'8''-G-83, college: Findlay (OH)) and Hertener Loewen came to a mutual agreement to end their deal early after the point guard was second in assists per game (6.8apg) in the 2. Bundesliga Pro B as well as in steals per contest (3.0spg) and 11th in points per game (19.0ppg) in 2007-2008. The ultra-quick pure point guard will ascend one level to suit up for BV Chemnitz 99 (Pro A) in the upcoming 2008-2009 year. Dustin Pfeifer, who played his first year as a pro in Denmark and was named the 2006-2007 Eurobasket.com All-Danish Basketliga Guard of the Year. He started this past season on a team called Regionalliga West-side Benslips Baskets Salzkotten and headed to Hertener Loewen in February 2008. Look for this rising star to continue his stellar play and exciting brand of ball in the top division of Germany and possibly beyond in the future. The former D2 All American and career leader in assists and steals among other statistical categories at Findlay (OH) is one of the many stories of D2 basketball players making a quality living overseas in the game of basketball.

You can laugh all you want, but getting paid to play basketball isn't bad for a 5'9" kid from Washington Court House, Ohio

I knew he played overseas. I also knew you would doubt that without some sort of proof.

I care when people post false information.I used to have fun correcting the dukie on The Huddle. He posted false information on a consistent basis.

I'd agree. Getting paid to play ball is the bottom line. I dont think he ever was calling him NBA material. What is your real beef with him?

YOU just pissed that Duke got exposed?

Not that it means anything at all, but Lunardi's latest projection for the #1 seeds on SportsCenter a few minutes ago...

Ohio State
Pitt
Kansas
BYU

Duke and Texas both fall down to the two line.

Personally, I think there's no way in hell that BYU gets a one seed, but that's just me. I suppose if Duke doesn't win the ACC, BYU could get the nod over them.

Some interesting numbers on College Basketball Final with regard to BYU.

RPI - #1
SOS - #14
Vs. RPI Top 50 - 8-1
10 true road wins, most of any team in the nation

If they win out, maybe the committee will give them a 1 seed. Going simply by the numbers, maybe they do deserve it.

I never understand SOS. Seems like every year some team has a high SOS that makes you scratch your head. Who have they best?

i wouldn't have a problem with BYU getting a one seed if they ran the table in the MWC tournament and finished with just 2 losses. MWC isn't the MAAC or the Big Sky, it has some good teams in it, tough venues.

I would be mildly upset if Texas got a 1 seed with 5-6 losses over a 4 loss Pitt or 4 loss Duke

Yeah, I do feel like SOS can be a little deceiving, but I do think the committee takes a pretty close look at it.

As far as I can see, BYU's big wins are SDSU (twice) and Arizona. Also wins over St. Mary's (who has been ranked off and on) and a decent UNLV team. They lost to a pretty good UCLA team and also at New Mexico, which is one of the tougher places to play in the Mountain West.

In reply to Dustin Pfeifer, my "beef" is that people on the Old Huddle wrote in capital letters on every thread the exploits of Dustin Pfeifer -- DUSTIN PFEIFER COULD SCORE 300 POINTS AGAINST THE JAZZ ... DUSTIN PFEIFER IS CHRIST ... DUSTIN PFEIFER COULD TAKE A CHARGE AGAINST A MONORAIL. Because of this, I now hate the kid and think Dustin "the basketball player" is a real d-bag. If I met him in person, I'm sure I'd change my perception of him.

Those are definitely interesting and admirable numbers. I certainly wouldn't have expected BYU to be that high in the RPI. The 10 true road victories stat is also impressive, but let's be serious. The Cougars road victories (not including SDSU) include the Texas Christian Horned Frogs, Air Force Flacons, Wyoming Cowboys, Colorado State Rams, Utah Utes, Creighton Blue Jays, Weber State Wildcats and the Buffalo Bulls. That stat might be not as important as it looks. Those are all bad teams. Not one of those teams will come close to making the NCAA Tournament, save for a conference tourney miracle.

I like BYU as a two. Just don't see the 1 happening. I'll stand by my original thought.

Maybe, you shouldn't base your opinion on what other people say.I don't know Pfiefer, but I have watched him play basketball and interact with fans, especially children, when he played in the Worthingyon Summer League. He stayed classy on and off the court. He doesn't deserve to be mocked.

I don't know if duke was exposed, but I wasn't unhappy when they lost. They are not one of my favorite teams.

Texas is in a tough one with K-State right now. The Horns are down 62-55 with 5:55 left.

Yeah, he's playing through the pain right now, but I'd be surprised if there isn't something seriously wrong with it.

66-59 K-State with just over 2 minutes to go. Texas is in danger of completely imploding down the stretch.
