With Derrick Williams playing the way he is, and the shooters Arizona has at its disposal when Lamont Jones and Kyle Fogg are on, the Wildcats are a very good team. They've won eight straight and are taking advantage of other teams in the Top 25 sucking, to put it simple. Nobody can fault them for taking care of business and moving up.

There are certain posters here that wouldn't like Arizona no matter what, and they are entitled to their opinions. I happen to disagree. After watching the 'Cats play on several occasions on FSN Sunday Night Hoops, I am wildly impressed with Williams and believe Arizona can make a run in the NCAAs.

A lot of people are hating on Arizona right now, simply because they are a west coast team and a lot of people haven't seen them play. Derrick Williams is one of the best players in the country and they have sort of a forgotten coach in Sean Miller.

That being said, I can definitely see how some people (who have actually seen them play, which i'm sure is a lot on here) don't really believe in them quite yet since they don't really have great wins.

Pac 10 isn't great, Washington doesn't suck, they will pump a little west coast to keep interest in the tourney out there so I'm not surprised.

Your logic...
A loss to Purdue, the #8 team in the country at their place is better than a win against Georgia Tech.

Yes. Example, Ohio State plays against the number 8 team in the country, at their place, in which they are undefeated, and barely loses. Duke plays an 11-15 team AT HOME and obviously wins.

Perfect example of a time when a loss is better than a win. And like I said, using your logic, if ANY win is better than a loss, then teams like SDSU should be #1 since they have crappier wins, but have less losses.

Game over, its okay to admit when you are wrong.

Then you might want to start.

Doesn't matter who they lost to..you said "you lose you should be punished" OSU wasn't. Where's the outrage over that?

Kansas' last game was a W. Which leads me to...

Do pollsters(in everyone's opinion) look at a week with a week of Win followed an L with more weight than a Loss followed by a weekend W for the week? Or do they look at it as 1-1 with noting who you lost to?

Ohio State may have been in the game at certain points -- getting within four in the second half -- but let's be serious about the situation please. Purdue stretched it to a solid 10-point lead with four minutes to play and won by 13 . I'm not saying Georgia Tech is tougher than Purdue. Unlike you, my head isn't completely filled with breeze.

But Ohio State didn't "barely lose." "Barely losing" is Ulysses Reed taking down Louisville from half-court in the 1981 NCAA Tournament. Ohio State was beaten by four possessions and a free throw.

Analyze the losses and not when they occurred and a more accurate rating would be reached.

Ehh every conference has it's ups and downs but yeah only 3 tournament teams isn't much of anything...especially compared to the 11 Joe Lunardi is predicting from the Big East

Yeah, even though I still like Arizona to make a run if Williams gets hot, a 5 vs. 12 game -- a four seed if they finish strong and win the Pac 10 tourney -- for the Wildcats probably sounds about right.

As I cautioned, if Williams doesn't score, as was the case at USC tonight, Arizona is doomed.

It is poetic that a guy from Fordham who transfered to USC was the one to beat Sean Miller. You can leave the A10 Sean, but we will find you..

Derrick Williams played awful though. I thought that Arizona would lose even if Williams played well, but that clearly wasn't the case. If Williams gets some shots to go down in the later part of the 2nd half Arizona wins pretty easily.

Why would u punish Duke for winning? its not like they planned to play GT and the same time OSU played Purdue.
