The school's dean should step up and disagree with them then. But you won't hear that, because he/she probably doesn't.

People that call others liberals in higher education are kind of proving the point, in my opinion. Jealousy isn't a good quality. Don't cry to us who went to good colleges.

That being said, holy shit who does that? Completely crazy.

Pathetic. I go to a school that has a strong ROTC program and it has no negative impact on the university at all. All of the ROTC guys I know are great, fun people.

Completely agree. The ROTC program we have is a definite asset to the university and one of the best in the area.

I never said it was better. Everyone who blindly hates people who go to private colleges infer that for us anyway. I've never had to tell people I go to a better college. They seem to already think that before I would ever think of it anyway.

Before I say this, these people should have the decency to respect the veteran. Not only because he's a veteran but just because he's a person. Shouting down and heckling people rarely showcases how your view is more correct.

That said,

The bolded is exactly the kind of fear mongering bullshit that our government wants us to believe. Yes, we all need to be afraid of these bad men...out there...trying to kill us.

I guess I can't speak for everyone, but Columbia had little to do with it--the part that let me know they were liberal douche bags was when I read about them heckling a guy who took 11 bullets overseas fighting for our freedom.

You're clueless if you don't believe him. As much as some may be into fear mongering while ignoring some facts, if you don't believe him then you're part of the group that defies everything fear mongers say for the principle of it, whether there are facts behind it or not. So you're no different.

Like it or not, he speaks the truth. I'm not one of those people that are buying up guns left and right and building an underground shelter. But there are people out there that want to bring down this country and kill all of us that don't convert and they're plotting ways to do it.

I don't condone heckling or disrespecting anyone, but I do think this country over glorifies the military. Just because you are a solider doesn't mean you deserve my "thanks" or my increased tax dollars supporting your "worthy" causes.

It's sad that he got heckled, and its even worse that he was injured during his service to this country. I dont see why Columbia should feel the need to have an ROTC program, it is within their right not to. I dont think those who heckled speak for the intelligent opposition to the ROTC program at the school. Just as all religious people arent represented by the Westboro Baptist Church.

There will always be people trying to destroy America, especially with our track record in wars, so his statements maybe true, but they do not warrant another ROTC program.
